Look, my favorite thing in watching boxing is seeing someone carve out a legacy. He's got the two losses, but he was very young for Joyce, and there is no shame in losing to Usyk. Beating AJ puts him on the map, and his wins against Hrgovic, Miller, and even Lerena are good back-up wins. Usyk and Fury are leaving the division soon, probably Zhang as well, and at 27 years old, Dubois will be contending with Parker, Kabayel, and Bakole until a pretty poor crop of heavies is ready for a go. I can see him having a very significant title reign. Still not the most skilled operator, but he is a beast, and he seems to be coming to understand what he does well. What do you guys think?
Bakole could do a Joyce on him being too durable and relentless wearing him down in 2nd half of the fight. Kabayel looks impressive but I still need to see him against a real notable name but that's a very dangerous fight for Dubois. I think Dubois would match up best vs Parker who's not a big puncher and Dubois's aggression and power punching may give him the edge. If Dubois does beat Joshua in a rematch I think matching him up against Parker would be the smartest fight for him against a notable name that style wise he could beat. As for being a future great ? Not for me no I like him and his redemption story deserves respect but I see him losing again in his next few fights.
Who knows at this point. He was thrown a lifeline as he was already labelled a quitter. It’s not just the fact he lost but the way he lost twice. His age could be a factor to build a solid legacy with, absolutely. But could Zhang, Bakole, Parker or Kabayel do something about him? We will hopefully see.
Still a KO waiting to happen despite tumbling through his last couple of fights. Most of the people hyping him up are fickle and will be tearing him down once he loses again. I'm saying he isn't great and his recent success is a combination of youth, a bit of luck and most of the division not being very good.
Probably very low. He also quit against Usyk. He deserves huge credit for last night, but let’s not get carried away. There’s nothing to say that he goes on a reign from here.
The odds wouldn't be great, he's gotten a lot better but I wouldn't think he is destined for greatness. But then who knows, I didn't think he'd beat Hrgovic or Joshua. Dubois is only 27 and only just now reaching his prime years, we don't know his ceiling right now as he's still making improvements and the next gen of heavyweights doesn't exactly excite.
Only if he beats Usyk twice, but his chances are not so much. Usyk has his number, like he has Fury's and Joshua's ones.
