Sergei has done what I can't recall any other world champion russian fighter has ever done. Completely packed his bags, told universum to **** off, and boarded a plane to the USA. He is also negotiating for himself to fight the IBF 154lb champ in cory spinks in las vegas. A fight which is all risk and no reward just to prove he is the best. A win here would solidy sergei as the best at 154, and would most likely land him an HBO slot, and a true uni fight with sergio martinez. Most ESB hardcore's who truly know boxing are aware that sergei is the best jr middle on earth, and with the huge risks he is willing to take, he obviously beleives it too.

All the euro haters out there, take note to what this fighter is doing.
You always holler that these euro bums stay in there back yards and fight
mando stiffs. Well, this UNDEFEATED WORLD CHAMPION is doing the opposite.

And I, as an american, say good for you sergei.
Welcome to the United states of america.
    Now please retire cory spinks!

He's Ukranian, but apart from that good post.

Spinks-Dzinz sure ain't gonna make for a blockbuster, that could be one for the purists.

It's a publicized fact that sergei is the only fighter to call out pwill when
pwill had no fights lined up and hadn't just finished one either. Sergei was also adamant about the fight being in the USA, and pwill was the mando for the full WBO title, held by the russian. Goosen turned it down. Just
saying this guy has earned the respect. That's all!!

Nobody has wanted to fight Dzinziruk. Not because he's unbeatable, but because he IS a risk of some kind, and not a lot of reward with it.

Nobody wanted to go to Germany when he was with Universum. He can't talk English or German very well, so he was never marketed to the extent he was worth big money that would tempt a fighter to take a risk with him.

But now, if he fights Spinks its a case of two big risk/low reward type fighters squaring off, and the winner will be forcing peoples hand. A guy like Sergio Martinez won't be able to look past him for long.

It's only a shame this has come far too late in Dzinz's career, he's probably seen his best days slip away.

He tried, but goosen said no. Pwill became the mando after beating verno phillips for sergei's title. Sergei wanted the fight in the U.S. and for short money, and pwill had no fights lined up. I'm not saying pwill didn't want it, but goosen sure didn't. The guy has earned respect. So, why don't you get off your lazy, big mac eating, no finding canada on a map, ipod listening all day long, impotent, brainless, ignorant ass and open your mind.
Boxing is a global sport now. You have to follow it on a global scale if you call yourself a fan.

I know he's ukrainian, but most of these dumbass ESB posters can't find
spain on a map, much less know that the ukrain is part of the former USSR, so i just say russian for the dimwits.

Hard for SD to fight him when Paul Williams avoids him.... and THEN PW claims "no one wants to fight me".

Thanks for the post - it's exactly why I lurk around these boards. If you have any links to decent articles on him, please post. I know his name and that he's quality at 154, but not much more.

Someone (European based?) should put some $$ up for a 154 tournament. It's a weightclass that could benefit by it in a big way.

For what it's worth, you've upped my interest in the guy.

get real moneymatt, spinks is not the elusive fighter he once was years back. he's aged and gets hit a lot more. dzindzurik is smart to pick a fight with spinks. he will dismantle him.

Ill be rooting for him to take over 154 until kirkland is back, then i gotta root for my boy lol.
