Let me explain: this is about Parker as much as it is about Usyk. Parker is #2, Agit is #3. Kabayel is undefeated and his stock is way higher than Fabio's who is still on the rise and hasn't beaten anybody just yet. Wasn’t it logical and obvious for them to fight each other, with the winner facing Olek in what’s possibly his last fight?
When I was younger I always wanted to see the best fight the best. Then I leaned it was a business. From a business standpoint it makes more sense to wait for Usyk’s schedule to open up and get that pay day.
I think Kabayel doesn't want to take more risks than necessary now that he has a mandatory shot and with Usyk looking like retiring soon. Unlike Parker he has never been champ before and based on his fight history he is a more risk adverse fighter until recently.
Only if you base your logic only on who deserves it most and has the most relevant achievements. If you base your logic on what makes sense financially from a risk reward perspective, you face a fighter that is a big underdog against you but brings a lot of fans and revenue and people can still get excited about the fight. On top of that if he has a good rating, it puts further pressure on Usyk when you win. So from that point it's logical not to fight Kabayel next. (Similar argument works for kabayel sadly, who will probably show up with a similar opponent, though due to less drawing power probably a weaker one)
Wardley is a less dangerous opponent and the payday is much bigger. Plus the WBO interim belt is up for grabs.
Because Warren is trying to build his stock with British fans so that Usyk-Parker is more marketable. Wardley is a bit of a sacrifice to do that.
I agree that they should fight each other and I don't know why they're not. As others have said possibly money, and not wanting to risk their interim spot for the title against another dangerous fighter.
Outside of this forum I don’t think Kabayel have any fans so it was easy to make a fight with Parker and Wardley. Kabayel wasn’t supposed to win his last couple of fights so it’s easy to see why some promoters is not happy with him, if they were we would see him fight more often.
Both guys are top contenders sitting on title shots with an aged unified champ who looks set to retire imminently. We are lucky that they are fighting at all, let alone each other. Before this current heavyweight environment with Turki throwing cash around to get fights made, there is no way these two guys would be fighting or be expected to fight considering their situations. If they do nothing they are either likely to get elevated to full champ or a **** ar vacant or a life changing payday and shot at the undisputed champ.
