But whatever happened to John Ruiz? I mean I think he won the last valuev fight and I think the WBA strip Valuev.

I dont know and dont care. Ruiz is overrated, so is the giant Russian he "beat". If both of them walked away from boxing tomorrow then the HW division would be one small step closer to restoration.

 

Perhaps I should have been clear, but you share the same sentiments as Zakman. Zak hates Ruiz. Just mention Ruiz and Zak goes on a tirade.

Retired hopefully. Ruiz is a disgrace to this sport. That a talentless glorified clubfighter like him was able to get a title belt thanks to the machinations of Don King, and the green light to excessive holding and faking low blows that that influence provided, is nothing short of a stain on the history of boxing.

 

I hope he fell into a deep hole he can't climb out of.

I think a fighter can earn redemption regardless of his past. I don't see why John isn't worthy of redemption himself. I think he has done fairly well over his last fights. He hasn't held as much and he has actually been pretty clean. I don't see why people want to keep bashing the guy.
