hh, your too tough for me...
Yes its Al Bummy Davis, who ko,d the faded Tony Canzoneri in 1939 ending Canzoneri's great career...The fans booed him for his brutal ko of the beloved Canzy...Davis became a top gate attraction because of his LEFT HOOK, the best I ever saw on a lightweight...Davis a 10 to 1 underdog ko,d the great Bob Montgomery in the first round in 1944,with left hooks...Could he hit...But a couple of weeks later at MSG I saw Al Davis tackle Beau Jack, but lost the decision to my favorite crowd pleasing lightweight Beau Jack...After Davis retired in 1945, he was murdered in a bar by gunmen, flattening two of them before he died from bullets in the neck...Tough Bummy Davis died a hero after all b.b.
