There is a diffrence you think King would look at Dawson over Taylor ,Hopkins Pavlik or Taylor ??Unfortunatly thats the name of the game .Fighting one of Jones conqueres now doesn't neccessarily mean a shot at Roy ..Its not like Johnson is fresh off the Jones win he fresh off the Woods loss and a KO over a journeyman ..

Hopkins is old and busy playing footsie with Joe. Pavlik and Taylor are both garbage. Dawson-Johnson, then Dawson-Jones, then whatever comes next. I don't see how this procession doesn't make sense. Then, I'm not a successful promoter.

 

You summed it up if your trying to make money you suck as a promoter but for the die hards your an excellent one ..Unfortuantly due to where Jones is at this stage in his career a fight w/Dawson is way to dangerous ...I think he'e be too much for him at this satge ,so what Jones will do is look at an opponenet that is more marketable with less risk ..

Calzaghe and Hopkins are not as dnagerous because neither men is considered that dangerousof a puncher ..Taylor -Pavlik are Middles boredering super middles ..Jones has fought that later part of his career at lt heavy ..He may see them as smaller threats .

If you want to bring in the $$ and more hair gel for DK these are the fights you look at ..Not Chad Dawson..It sucks but he needs to make a name for himself before calling out the big names .And to tell you the truth I doubt Chad would get a fight w/a Calzaghe,Hopkins or Jones at this point due to his lack of marketability ...

 

If Floyd can fight Oscar, then Ricky, then Oscar - Chad can fight Glen, then Roy, then whoever (Antonio? :barf).

 

I think you're ridiculous if you think it's not all about MONEY. Who are YOU to tell Dawson who he should be fighting? If he wants RJJ because he offers a big pay day and he knows he can add a nice name to his resume, what is so bad about that? Isn't it COMMON SENSE?

As a Dawson fan i'd prefer if he was calling out someone who could challenge him instead of Roy, but then you look at his division and the surrounding divisions and who is available to fight? Kudos to Dawson for facing Johnson, probably the biggest name/ best fighter for him to fight at the moment.

As for Jones winning every round against Dawson in his prime, you don't know what the **** you're talking about, against Harding Jones had trouble and lost rounds and Dawson is far superior to Harding in terms of athleticism and boxing skills, Jones avoided quality southpaws for a reason, even Tarver would've given Roy serious problems in his prime, Dawson is bigger and faster so who knows what could have happened, if Jones fought Nunn when he was at middle he would've lost that 0 right then. Jones had unmatched athleticsm in his prime but he could be outboxed as Griffen showed in the first half of their first fight.

The money and exposure Dawson would get from this win is more than he would vs pretty much every other fighter in the division except for MAAAAAAYBE Hopkins. I think calling out Roy is a great move for the kid.
