I've always suspected I might be a fan, but his latest interview confirms it.

*Accidentally posted a sentence as an entire thread* - continues below.

    1. He is intelligent - especially his comments about getting hurt in a ring "there's nothing cool about getting beat up".
    2. He is a victim of his own success - he does have a no-win situation.
    3. His personality is actually not unpleasant, just another great self-promoter and then respects the opponent afterwards.

Out of interest, who would Mayweather have to beat to gain that full respect of the fans - I guarantee there would still be detractors (I hate "haters").

I also like Mayweather ! Many people dont because hes a smart man and because he admits he doesnt fight for the legacy he fights for the money.... To get full respect of fans from all around the world i think he would have to beat somebody like Paul Williams or Winky Wright.

I think he's a cool guy. He gets a ridiculous amount of stick but he's just playing the bad guy. I'm sure he's a good guy beneath all that nonsense. He's also a phenomenal boxer.

    Floyd's cool :good

I liked it when he said "They don't have to get in the ring and fight this beast"
"There is no way Pacquiao beats me, NO WAY'

I liked Mayweather before hand but one line in that whole interview sealed it for me...... Anyone guess what it was ???? :yep

Can't say I find Mayweather's personality the most endearing at times, however his skills are simply sublime. I just just get so frustrated by the fact he doesn't prove his greatness, as he is undoubtedly great!

He could start by fighting a few decent welterweights...

He should of fought Cotto long ago, it took a guy that fought at super feather only a few years ago to show him the way.

Now Cotto has been taken care of he needs to fight Pacquiao or Mosley, or dare I say it Paul Williams if he wants people to give him an easier time. People just want to see him live up to his words against the best opponents in his weight class but he's had a easy ride at 147.

Maybe because he is P4P #1 and said Hatton was his toughest fight?

I like him, although in his previous 2 fights I have wanted him to lose (I did want him to beat De La Hoya though!) and I will also want him to lose if/when he fights Pacquiao. But I have a lot of respect for the guy and I don't find his personality as being that bad, although at times he comes out with a lot of ****.

I think Mayweather is a good guy aswell, he just spouts stuff before fights to sell tickets and drum up interest!!!
My take on the Pacquiao fight is Floyd will box himself to a victory through late stoppage or UD.

I think he represents what's wrong with boxing, he's also hypocritical and tries to insult people's intelligence by saying he's the GOAT. Watching him take a 12 round beating would make me happy.

How does Floyd earning super sized pay cheques in mismatches help bring new talent through? Plus you seem misinformed, we've been lamenting the lack of emerging talent, particularly in the States, for some time now.

Mayweather will get a lot of love after he fights Manny. The Pacman will bring out the blood and guts warrior that is within Floyd. Mayweather will have to step it up several gears.

With Floyd it'll be a classic case of you don't know what you've got until it's gone.

However if I predict one thing with certainty it's this when Floyd and Pac are finished with each other neither will ever be the same again.

So you think Floyd is helping bring new talent through then?
