I like him, he's an incredible fighter, constantly puts in superb performances on his own terms and behaves like a total primadonna/SOB before fights which is entertaining and what I expect from a yank who's as good as him.

I like Floyd a lot. And I might be wide of the mark here but I actually think the Hatton fight changed him. Not the fight itself, but the build up. Seeing how the fans got behind Hatton, hearing them sing his name, and he wants a piece of that.

Like I said, I could be way off. But that's the impression I got in the Marquez build up.

I thought that too. Even after the Hatton fight when he was being booed he was giving them props. Thats why he wanted to bring the JMM tour to the UK he now knows the boxing fan base here is much bigger than he thought.

He was totally respectfull to JMM after the fight too and was giving Marquez his props when Kellerman messed everything up with his bad interviewing skills lol

He'd win a lot of people over simply by fighting the best in his own weight class.

He was only giving JMM his props in order to keep up the facade it wasn't a joke fight.

Well to be fair JMM is a great fighter (beat pac twice imo) but although Floyd was bigger he never used that size to his advantage. He picked JMM apart with speed, skill and surgical precision.

So you don't think Floyd's punches carry any extra weight than a lightweight?

He rarely uses power, his speed and accuracy done the job for him. Marquez is a decent puncher too.

Even if he had no power at all it would have made no difference due to the fact Marquez could hardly land a shot on him.

Marquez was unable to land a punch because he was forced to sacrifice all the attributes that made him succesful at the lower weights. He's a range fighter, that was forced to fight up close due to being the smaller man.

Anyway, me and you have had this conversation before and it's very boring. If you believe this is a great win for Floyd, and gives him some kind of moral edge over Pacquiao, then more power to you.

If you were the guy in that video with the Hopkins fight T-shirt(cannot remember from which fight) then watching you take a 12 round beating would make me happy :happy

In general the guy aint liked, cause of his big mouth, it's alright tellin everyone your the best but another thing when your forcing smaller guys to fight at your weight cause your confortable with it, ala Marquez, sneaky ******* Mayweather. I dont doubt his skills are pretty amazing, its just his attitude I dont like:good

I admire his skills, but he’s obnoxious as an individual. The Marquez fight simply underlined why he’s so hard to like: he has every physical advantage, and could have easily put Marquez away any time after the second, yet he refused to do it. Apply that to his career since coming up to light welter – he could be dominant and a definitive great.

Floyd’s skills and his achievements inspire a lot of young black men. But his attitude is damaging: that he deserves big money for fighting anyone he wants. That’s fine if he wants to fight genuine opponents like Mosley, Pacquiao, or Cotto, but not when he wants to fight guys with no hope of beating him.

Also, hearing him say he’s greater than Ray Leonard makes my stomach churn. The bravery and commitment Ray showed in his prime out-strips anything Mayweather has shown. And Ray was never afraid to have a fight.

That was made for Zelenoff's benefit, we were supposed to be fighting at one point.
