not to hate on GGG but Cotto can go from 140 to 160, Canelo can start at 140 and is now at 154,yet GGG can't go from 160 to 168? Ain't nobody worth a damn at MW right now you got some prospect's but they are just that prospect's not established fighters who are proven. If you think a GGG win over Quillen or Jacobs is better than a potential win over Ward, Froch you're fu*king crazy.

I like GGG a lil bit I'm not on the he's the greatest MW since Hagler **** people be pushing but he's a good fighter my thing is this the same people *****ing that GGG should stay and try to get all the titles are the same guys who say titles are meaningless, and if they are meaningless why can't he move up?

Not at all. If he wants to unify belts and become lineal, then he is entitled to do it. That is a traditional boxer's goal. I would never complain if a fighter wanted to do it. I'm not sure where you are coming from with the if he were American thing.

And until he does that, I am not someone who would say it is without risk. I think Cotto, Quillin, Martinez, and Lara and Canelo if they move up, all present problems to GGG if he fights them. Maybe I am unusual among fans of the MW division because I want to see actual fights instead of being happy with fantasy fights, and I don't overrate GGG so far as to think he steamrolls all these guys.

one more note people talk about these past prime guys at 168 but man if you look at the current top 10 at MW every fighter but 2/3 are over 33+ that ain't prime

So how do you think GGG fares against Andre Dirrell and James DeGale at 168? Who do you think would win?

    Quillien- won't fight

Lee- would probably fight ggg assuming he gets past quillin. Only issue is he isn't all that good. He is a one trick poney and that truck is his power. One shot from him won't ko ggg. Ggg would knock him from pillar to post. Worthless fight.

Saunders- who has he fought. He's 25. Too green yet. Not a money fight either.

Lemieux- good fight that I would love to see.

N'dau- few fight ago spent half of his night on the canvas and has strung a few wins together. What do you think ggg would do? Not lucrative.

    Canelo- never fought at 160

Cotto- can't even make the weight

It's easy to pick holes in anyone, but the fact remains that beating someone at 168 of equal skill is more impressive than beating a guy at 160. All the fights I mentioned at 168 can be compared in terms of likelyhood of happening to the ones you mentioned at 168. Not to mention since one of your requirements is purse, how much does ggg have to gain by fighting anyone but Canelo and cotto?

Ward should move up. He has nothing left to prove at 168. Unlike you I don't hold a double standard.

Canelo and Cotto are the equivilents of Froch or Chavez Jr in terms of purse, with only two out of the 4 (Froch, MAYBE Canelo) putting up a tough fight for GGG

as I've mentioned before, I have no problem with GGG moving up to 168 for a lucrative money fight with Froch or someone who brings in $$$, no point in stressing your body for peanuts

his priority should be, and is, 160, trying to unify all the belts (how many unified champions are there in boxing today?) once he's done that, and he's physically and mentally up to it, why not take a gamble at 168 :deal

GGG doesn't NEED to move up, but it's something he might consider if he can't get the marquee fights at 160, Cotto/Canelo, and if the right opportunity at 168 comes along. I doubt Miguel Cotto wants a GGG match and most people see Golovkin as the number 1 middleweight anyway. 3G is guaranteed a shot at the WBC title sometime being the interim 'holder' though and hopefully he can get the WBO winner of Lee/Quillin for a unification (hopefully Lee because he would be more willing to take on Gennady, I think). Then there's Lemieux and the IBF shake up, so I reckon Golovkin will remain at middleweight for the next 12 months or so at least. He might move up at some point in 2016.

There's always more to do at a weight because the comp is always changing. Yes ward could stay and fight, but why? He's the best at the weight.

Same goes for ggg, he's the best at mw and no one disputes that. Beating cotto does nothing. Beating Canelo does nothing. Beating any other mw does nothing because that's what's expected to happen.

How is your view any different? His goal is not realistic at this point because the "champ" won't fight him. He's at mw spinning his wheels. The only way he become the lineal champ is of cotto drops the belts.

Every weight class has up and coming fighters, that's how boxing works. If it didn't this sport would be dead. GGG is only hurting himself by parking at mw, and it bothers me because he can achieve greatness.
