My god does he use that head a lot. A lot of the time it's not even questionable, like how Holyfield would disguises headbutts so there could be a debate about whether they were intentional or not, there were 3 or 4 spots in the fight last night where Warrington wasn't even using his hands and was just mauling with his head and shoulder, low tactics really when you've got a guy who's face was so badly damaged, grinding your head into the cuts is only gonna make them worse and the ref warned him maybe twice for use of the head? I think he actually warned him more times for use of the shoulder I know some people feel different but when I watched the Lara rematch I felt immediately the headbutts were intentional with him planting his feet and looking for them, surely moving forward this has to be something refs will need to be aware of and on the lookout for? I also feel really bad for Lara, feel like he's been absolutely shafted after beating the widely-considered number one in the division emphatically
I'm no fan of dirty fighting, but compared to Andre Ward this is next to nothing. Ward was only warned when he deliberately fouled his opponents and he is considered a HOF and ATG fighter...
I don't see Martinez complaining much.. When you've got two offensive minded fighters who grind away it's not really a surprise heads start clashing up close .. Warrington for some reason inspires a lot of hatred from boxing fans , I don't get it because he is value for money and Earned his stripes the hard way… i've watched a lot of his fights and I think more is made of the head butt thing than is warranted… The last couple of clashes there have been incidents but I think that's more to do with Styles rather Warrington deliberately going out Billy goating people.. he's hardly Hopkins, Salido or Golota is he lol .. Bunch of ****ing fannies crying about a head clash .. go on josh lad ...
Lol I came on here today about to start a Josh Warrington School of Head Butting opens in Leeds! thread. He could give lessons to Holyfield. Martinez's face looked like Mikkel Kessler after his Ward fight....a bloody mask. He's also good at shoving opponents with his left shoulder. He was warned more than once about that.
The headbutt against Lara looked intentional. He wasn’t throwing a punch, just going in head first. This content is protected
Shot his load all over Kiko's face whilst the commentators and crowd got erections whilst Kiko was happy to let him do to it. Then the most damage from punches occurred when Kiko complained about the first big headbutt which opened his eye up...then got caught off guard because he was expecting the ref to do something which he didn't. Gassed out after his 2 rounds of load blowing then fumbled using his head damage to do the rest of the damage whilst the British ref was gagging to jump in. Lame. I'd rather watch Tyson Fury tie his shoelaces.
Josh "Vaseline-Head" Warrington It looks like they dip his head in vaseline before the fight. It was comical when the ref was getting strict with Kiko for having some vaseline on his forehead.
Warrington's a good fighter but Kiko Martinez looked like a shot fighter, slow and his reflexes appeared non existent . All he seemed to have was his toughness. And that's a recipe for a beat down
Besides Kessler and Kovalev, give me 8 fights Ward was dirtier than Warrington. All I know is, prior to the Kessler fight, I never heard about Ward being dirty. So, prove your statement with facts.
There's youtube for everything. This video concentrates on Wards use of headbutting, holding and throwing elbows. First part is the Kessler travesty but the rest is his Bika fight. This content is protected
