I like Kovalev, but for a dude with a ring death in his past

It might having something to do with English not been his first language.

 

ppl are getting all excited about this dude...he's good, but not great. i'm not sold. knocking out sillakh who was ko'd last year....and campillo who was very chinny against cloud not too long ago...isn't so impressive imo. he did what he was supposed to do against inferior competition.

Kovalev probably relishes the fact he has killed an opponent and uses it to intimidate the opposition.

Seriously, even what he did to silakh once he was sparked... He was saying he was gonna bury him... That was more for future opposition intimidation than anything else

Those three punches to ko silakh even once he was out on his feet..show kovalev is a bad motherfucer... Normal people who have killed a person lose that instinct... Look at eubank after watson....and watson didnt die

he didn't kill that fighter, the fighters corner did. its not like kovalev stood there and poured several hard punches onto a defenseless opponent.

it was a hugely one-sided fight that the fighters corner did not stop, a fight that could have been stopped several times earlier.

 

He is going to be the new matthysse on these boards... He just needs one more big KO win against adonis or not so bad chad.

I have no problem with him taunting his opponents and trash talk. If his future opponents don't like it do something about it.

Honestly he hasn't done anything really out of line.

He is still a pro boxer. Just because an accident like this happens doesn't take away the nature of the sport he STILL lives in.

 

What would an appropriate amount of heckling or antagonizing be?

and him telling his victims before the fight exactly what he's going to do to them... that's even better.

anyways, Kovalev gets a pass for this type of ****, while when a guy like stevenson CELEBRATES after a KO, he's considered "classless". even though his opponents have talked alot of sh*t about him leading up to the fight..
