I like Naseem Hamed

You are right Naz was not on the same playing field as Barrera, Morales and Pac as they were all much more skilled, however by saying he made it possible for EM and MAB to make money I think he was saying that Hamed's mouth in talking up a fight made it more exciting to put them all in the ring

 

I was just glad Barrera beat him. Didn't make any claims about how thoroughly Barrera achieved the win atsch

 

I do not know the identity of the opponent that hamed was referring to,but if I were a gambling man,I would bet that it was Augie Sanchez,as Sanchez had already been stretchered out of the ring against another opponent whose name I can't remember prior to fighting Hamed.And he was stretchered out again in his 3rd loss.

 

Look at their records,ages and recent histories going into the Hamed fight,and you'll see for yourself that they were all pretty good featherweights at best when Hamed beat them.Just the facts.

You need to learn some facts.He NEVER retired Augie Sanchez as Augie fought on as was stretchered out for the 3rd time AFTER he fought Hamed.The 1st time was BEFORE the overrated one fought Sanchez.

 

Just watch the fight again and come back on these boards and say that you agree with those 2 of those scorecards except for Giampa's(due to the point taken away as MAB made scumbag his *****),just so we,who aren't hamed fanboys,could have a big laugh at your expense.Btw,I had it 9-3 or 10-2 for Barrera,and yes,Hamed got embarrassed by a technically superior fighter in,quite honestly,a rather funny way.

Not a great resume.Pretty good at best.Kelley had a ko loss and 2 draws against nobodies in the 2 1/2 years leading up to the Hamed fight.Medina had how many losses going in?Johnson was THIRTY ****ING THREE when he fought princess.At least you admit about Vazquez being past it-what was he 36 and with what 6 losses going in?You mentioned McCullough,whom I'm a fan of,but was a bantamweight.Ingle was tough but limited.And Bungu,well Bungu had one majority decision and one split decision against the likes of Danny Romero at JUNIOR FEATHERWEIGHT in 2 of his 3 fights going in to the Hamed fight.You just can't throw names out there with alphabet belts and expect everyone to say,"Wow,what a resume,"when FACTS indicate otherwise.

 

He was most certainly not class.Just because people were entertained by his antics doesn't make him class.He was a classless lout.He got embarrassed by a superior fighter,fought once more and rode off into the sunset.That's it.Good riddance.

I hated Prince every time he spoke, but loved him in the ring. In saying that, I was so happy when he got his ass handed to him by Barrera...and for those saying it wasn't an ass whooping, please watch the fight again, and try to focus on the ass whooping being handed to Hamed by Barrera. That ring post "I'm your daddy" move by Barrera totally made Hamed his ***** forever :yep

 

Very entertaining fighter. He could look truly special against B level opposition, but he was getting tagged frequently after he stepped up to world level. He was never going to recover his confidence after losing in the fashion he did. It was probably a good thing he called it quits.
