Including Calzaghe, Hopkins has been the underdog in his last 3 fights. Trinidad and Jones were also favored over him as well. Once again , Calzaghe was expected to beat Kessler. I know Lacy was favored to beat him. I can't to the reast of the guys you named.

Dont believe the belts, its the fighters that count :D
If Pbf, Pac etc only held a WBO is it garbage?

I dont think you have to move up/down to be a great fighter. Is RJJ a great LHW or SMW? Nearly unbeatable at SMW in prime less so at LHW.
Dont forget Nard coulda had this fight years ago but pulled out. Also you will note, Nard missed out 168 and went straight to 175.

Joe could have fought better fights but all records are padded to an extent.
If he is an american home town fighter he is an atg, if he is a european home town fighter he is an unproven champ. Calzaghe and Hatton can get crowds of 50k+ watching them and make very good money so they dont need to go fight abroad.

If this is Nard', RJJ, in the states its okay because its the mecca of boxing?

That's because some of these non U.S posters have resorted to making **** up to strenghten their argument. Hopkins has been fighting since he was like 13 or 14. He has been a pro 5 years longer than Calzahge, and has more pro fights. None of these guys have a good idea about Hopkins' amateur career, yet they somehow try to claim Calzaghe has been fighting longer.

Turning it into a UK vs US thread is just an easy way out for some of these fools.

We've discussed the Eubank thing before, it's a good win still, despite the circumstances.

Reid, Woodhall, Veit? Comparable to Allen, Vanderpool, Echols at best.

Lacy and Kessler were good wins, but they were VERY RECENT.

Don't try to act like what Joe did for 9years was ANYTHING but ducking the top guys.

I'm not forgiving Nard either, he refused to move up when he'd already cleaned up his division, instead he feasted on smaller guys, but I'd say that Tito, Joppy, Tarver, and Wright are better than ANY of Joe's wins outside of Eubank and Kessler... but I'd put the Tito win over any of those.

So I was correct when I said that Hopkins had the 100 amateur fights (99?) before he went to jail?

I don't want to get into the middle of this. Already having a go with Calzaghe#1 over whether Roy Jones ducked Calzaghe because he wouldn't fight him the UK in 2001. I don't want to argue country vs country, just about the 2 fighters involved.

    Try and deny it.

WBO ain't a belt people recognize, unless you are talking Calzaghe. Otherwise it doesn't get a mention. That's bull****, he waited 9 years before stepping up. No excuses.
