Well that's my point. Everyones says this guy is ducking this guy or that guy. Unless it's very very blatant, I don't care really.

Setanta is free in the UK to anyone that buys Sky Sports on cable - it only costs money to people who have satellite TV.

Calzaghe only has pulling power in the UK, mainly Wales and even then it's only recent. You said yourself that he's sold out since the Lacy fight. You really think people in the UK gave a **** about most of his other bull**** defences?

Didn't he mean most of the defenses, mainly before he faced Lacy?

35,000 watched Calzaghe vs Manfredo jnr. Are there 35,000 boxing fans stateside? Even in vegas you have 20,000 hatton fans at most big events :rofl
More probably turned out for the hatton pbf weigh in than many fights stateside.

You said SINCE THE LACY FIGHT. I said no-one gave a **** before that outside of Wales, and take it from me, they didn't. You've just brought up 2 defences after the Lacy fight to prove me wrong :huh

I don't know the figures for the Kessler fight, but it was a unification bout between two European fighters and it wasn't on pay per view it was on Setanta which as I said is free.....and also Kesslers fans would have played a large part in that.

Yeah, and the only reason I brought that up was because he said it himself in an earlier post :huh

Before he fought Lacy Calzaghe probably had 3-4 semi-meaningful defences and the rest were just bums which is why in the UK he was mainly ignored. He wasn't ignored by 'boxing fans' but the casuals never even knew who he was. That changed with the Lacy fight, I don't dispute that, you only have to see the increase in homoerotic Calzaghe nuthugging around here since then for proof.

I dont dis-credit Joe at all as a fighter:nono He is the favorite but admittedly my heart's with Hop's.

You're LOGIC? You forgot about street-fight's and PENITENTIARY YEARS. Hop's has been fighting longer. Joe's Amateur and Career years might add up more but using that as an EXPERIENCE edge?

Hopkins was known before he fought Tito, he'd fought Jones Jr remember. Not that he was known only for that obviously.

Calzaghe may have always got 8-12k in venues but lets face it as boxing goes Calzaghe is all that Wales has...sure they had Enzo and more recently Rees but they've all been fighting on the same shows anyway.

I believe Hopkins V Trinidad sold out Madison Square Garden which I think is 20,000+.

Your last statement about Hopkins/Taylor and Calzaghe/Manfredo just proves how many ******s there are in the UK, nothing more.

No way, Kesslers fans were not that many in number. Off the top of my head it was about 50,000 for kessler calzaghe.
Setanta is free on cable, I am not aware of this. I have a subscription to this on sky tv, its also subscription based on freeview as well.
Before lacy calzaghe was selling out venue's and has fought in manchesters men arena and around england and in europe.

Suffice to say Calzaghe is a hot ticket elsewhere in the UK not just wales and not just since the lacy days, throughout his career since he beat Eubank.

Why was Taylor Pavlik 2 not a sell out. I remember seeing the fight and a lot of empty seats, If i remember the comentators stated that Pavlik did not have many peeps travelling to support him. Its a fight I would have liked to have seen live. Was there a legit reason for this? i.e. ticket overpricing or was there not much interest in the fight?

Calzaghe has fought twice in Europe - once in Denmark on the Tyson - Neilsen undercard (and I think I'm right in saying no-one was there to see Calzaghe that night, or is he a bigger draw than Tyson too?) and another time in Germany against Mario Veit who he'd already beaten - and I suspect once again that he wasn't the main draw that night either, Veit was.

I never said Calzaghe didn't sell out venues before Lacy, I said that outside of the UK no-one gave a ****. Hell most of us inside the UK didn't give a **** either. He had 3-4 'meaningful' defences and the rest were garbage, even if they did draw in 10,000 morons to watch them.

Erm, how the **** would I know? Maybe because Pavlik won the first one pretty convincingly? How many tickets do you think Calzaghe V Lacy the rematch would sell?

The difference was AC vs LV:good Prior to Taylor most real believer's were in Youngstown OH. Easier travel to AC.

Taylor's going to continue gaining exposure and is the Champ. Anything EAST COAST? Likely sells out:good As he keeps winning the Crowd's will come in Vegas as well. Sure as **** Calzaghe vs Pavlik would sell out there:good
