The man has all the physical qualities to be great and rule this weak division but seems he has absolutely ZERO desire to fight for it like Lennox did. Perhaps the biggest waste of talent we'll see for a long time.

    +1

Quite possibly the first Olympic Gold medalist I have seen to be scared of getting hit by a punch.

He showed heart, but these moments are very few and far between. He wants to take on Haye or the Klitschko's, you can't be scared to take a punch against these guys or they will feed off of it.

I don't know. Maybe his jab alone can keep Haye at bay due to the fact that David don't like being hit either. That's a strong maybe.

If he had more conviction when throwing his jab then maybe. Wlad seems to keep everyone at bay with his jab, Wlad has a good chance at keeping Haye off balance, but I highly doubt Audley could do the same.
Haye would just wait for the jab then counter with one of his explosive rights.

    I wouldnt go that far

No way does a man with no heart and no desire deserve a world title shot

If it wasn't for the kucky punch against sprott we would have all been able to forget about him

All he can do is use his job to keep touching an opponent, not use it as an actual jab put lightly press it against an opponents glove and then shoot a straight left

Martin Rogan would beat him again, sprott and Audley are 2 very poor fighters, neither deserve to be european champions.

Put Audley in with Areola, Holyfield, Peter, Haye, Klitchko 1, Klitcho 2 and he would lose

Mormeck coming up from Cruiserweight would put him to sleep too, as would Areola. I think even Enzo Macranelli coming from Cruiser would beat him.

Hopkins would beat him too, so would chad dawson, so would adamek

I mean come on, he is crap lets get real. All these fighters listed deserve a title shot before audley. Lets hope he fights someone hald decent, gets knocked out and buggers off out of our sport for good

Tough talk from someone who probably never fought. Also, with over 30 professional bouts and a gold medal, its HIS sport before ours.

The Olympic Gold in this modern day is VERY flattering. There is hardly any comparison between Amateur boxing and the pro ranks.

Audley is a guy that turned pro because he's smart and stood to make a cool mil at the BBC's expense. Fighters are born not made in gyms. Audley isnt a fighter. Doesnt matter how much "physical" talent you may possess if your mind isnt that a fighter your wasting your time. Audley isnt a fighter.

In many sports you can train all you want but you still wont become great. This could be due to genetics, not starting early enough or not having the mental toughness. Audley is in at least one of these catergories.

His win was entertaining and may spur him on to bigger fights but he will nver be up there.
