I lose a lot of respect for Hatton because of this statement

I'm not losing sleep about it...

but it's still a ridiculous statement

It's not that i have anything against him otherwise. He's a great light welterweight, normally good to watch and seems like an ok guy. The problem is i think he believes it when he says it.

when it's DLH you know he's just playing the game.

A lot of guys call themselves the best in the world.

Holyfeld and James Toney still think theyre the best heavyweights in the world.

Obviously the PBF fight ****ed with his head a little bit because he honestly thought it would be an easy KO win for him. He has an ego like any fighter and wants to make up for that. He sees pacman being touted as the best fighter in the world p4p now that mayweather is gone and thinks he can beat pacman (which he probably can) and wants to make up for that mayweather loss.

I dont really think it makes him a bad guy for that. How many times when you see a guy who is the 5th best fighter in the world or in their division call themselves the 5th best? Everyone always calls themselves the best. Wouldnt really have the heart of a champion if you said "yeah im the 5th best and im ok with that. Not too sure if i want to fight the 4th best, I might loose. Those number 1 and 2 guys are just way out of my league, id never beat them"

Actually while watching Hatton say it, it was looking like Hatton himself didn't believe it,he just answered like the guy asked him.He had a WTF look on his face

if oscar beat pac and then hatton beat oscar decisivly, he would move up for beating a big guy and it would be an excellent win.

if pac beat oscar and then hatton beat pac decisivly, he would move up and it would be an excellent win.

but neither case would make hatton #1. i'd put him about 4 or 5 for either of those wins though in the circumstances above.

Malignaggi is crap. If you've got no power you cant be a top level professional boxer.

Hatton is good at enforcing his style of fight. However against really good opposition, like Floyd and Pac, Hatton gets outboxed and outfoxed

Complete wrong, Boxing is not just about power as your referring to.
    Surely you must know why?
Well maybe not now you said that.

whatever. I'm not in it for the love.

If he wants to fight Pacman i have no issue despite the size advantage. why doesnt he just say "it would be great to fight the P4P number one in the world"

I said if you've got no power you cant be a top level professional boxer. Malignaggi has no power therefore will never be able to operate on Hatton/Tsyzu/Cotto/Judah level. I never said boxing is all about power.

Hatton's fanbase are all football fans most of whom probably only watch him and don't follow boxing at all, all his statements are directed at them. They probably think p4p is an actual title with a belt.

If pac beats dlh at 147, and Hatton beats pac hes going to move up there perhaps top 5. He's already no 10. Another couple of good wins on top of pac and he could go no1 - live with it! He is currently number ten.

If he had beaten Floyd (when Hatton was high on the p4p list) he would have gone at least top 3, if not no1! He's not going to go no1 off the back of pac alone, he's wrong there, but if he had beat Floyd he would have perhaps done - his coments are not that far out at all.
