hmm says... as much as we would've wanted to see a comeback from Penasola, he wasn't showing ENOUGH clear signs that he can make the fight more competitive than it already was. Sure Gerry was giving signs that he can hang and fight back but it wasn't enough to merit a victory or stoppage of Lopez (nobody will know what could've happened). I myself wanted him to continue. As for Roach, he's Penasola's 2nd and only looking out for his health. I believe he made the right call. Even though he lost and got battered, he's still a champion and left a better impression of heart than most fighters. Roach made a good call.

You live in Romania, you have 18,000 posts...and you keep this site, and your computer on 24/7:lol:. You are a teenager with time on his hands, and a sorry opinion on boxing. Grow up because these types of answers make you look stupid lol. I wasn't even this goddamn dumb when I was your age lol.

There was no need for Gerry to take anymore punishment.

And how goddamn dumb are you now?

For someone mocking about spelling, you should re-read your posts. That sentence not only doesn't mean what you intended, it's basically self-insulting.

I can't trust Green to act like a fighter when he's in a fight. I honestly don;t understand why so many people are so high on this guy.

I think last night was a really learning experience for Froch. I just rewatched the fight and the only real times that he got caugh was went he got over anxious and true wild shots. His last two fight hopefully have taught him a lot about fighting world class fighters and the type of composure you need to have in the ring. If he can take what he's obviously lerned half way through both of his last fights (e.g. staying more poised and concervitive) and apply it to a complete performance he'll be a very capable champion.

I think you have to give the guy a lot of cred. He stacked the odds completely against him. Stepped way up in class, 3300 miles from home, biggest fight of his life, national TV exposure on a big US network, comes out dry and not properly warmed up and gets the job done.

Despite Penalosas best efforts he was getting beat the **** up. Sure he threw some sharp counters but they had absolutely no effect on Juanma

I think the stoppage was fair. There is no need of seeing your fighter get his head shreaded or getting a bone punched out of his side just to see if the other fighter is going to burn out(which i doubt). These are human beings not pit bulls. If you look closely there was couple times right before the bell that Gerry looked as if he was going to go. Lopez seemed as though he purposely kept Gerry in his(Gerry's) corner to show Roach that his fighter was about done.

You say I should re-read my posts, and then you point out one sentence with no mistake lol:lol:. Your dumbass can't even see my point anyway. Why would you even respond in this idiotic manner? Why? You are an alt because if you followed the posts...this kid pathetically attacked me FIRST, and you responded to me in the above pathetic manner...brilliant lol. ALT!

Very good post. I liked Froch's chances last night, and he came up big. He beats two tough guys in his last two fights. I want to see how Froch does with a left hook specialist. It would be a good fight...Froch-Green.

As bad as it sounds, Green is probably overrated because of his nationality and ethnicity by certain sections of this forum.

Freddie Roach understand way better than you do what is to live with any kind of neurological problem. He understood Gerry's have had enough. Gerry deserves the opportunity of enjoying life after retirement. Boxing is a sport!! Not to die in the ring.

About Juanma turning ordinary. The kid looked great. I expected Gerry's experience to give him more trouble at the beginning of the fight. But he was able to figure him out very quickly. Sure he still needs to correct a few things. But no many people in boxing can take punches like Gerry does. I am not even sure if Izzy or Rafa can take those punches. Of course I know they can hit back harder than Gerry.

The Macho bravado is what destroy some boxers lifes. Thank God Roach was there last night
