Sorry but Penalosa was getting manhandled ..If he had been firing back and was actually a little busier I may agree with you but the fact the he was being out landed by almost a 3-1 ratio said allot ..Im going to side with Freddie he knows his fighter ..

In 8 rounds Juan Manuel threw 1020 punches, connected with 444, over 40%.

In the 8th round he landed 87 punches out of 136, half of them power punches, which is a compubox record.

He was also up on the cards 8-0.

And Roach is supposed to let that continue for 4 rounds? So he can hit with another 300 punches?

Roach was completely justified in stopping it. Penalosa didnt have a snowballs chance in hell at anything but ungodly punishment

Froch can't box for ****. You call that a jab? WTF? He holds his left at his waist, he throws punches like an amateur, but he is very strong and powerful. He should fight Miranda, what a war that would be.

He will get outboxed by any decent boxer who can last 12 rounds. JC would make him look stupid.

I wish he would too, just to shut Froch up because other-wise, Froch will claim for life Joe ducked him, as if he ever deserved a shot at Calzaghe before he retired. It would be easy money for Joe C.

    Shut Froch up????

Froch already slapped you with a TKO win over Taylor which you said will be a massacre in favor of Taylor . . . so you should be shutting up already. :deal

    :rofl :hi:

That was about 2 or 3 rounds before the fight was actually stopped.

Roach told him before the final round, if he didn't score a KO or KD in that round, he would stop it. Penalosa didn't do that, so he stopped the fight.

In the round where Roach said to pick it up didn't JuanMa land over 80 power punches?

Come back from what? he had lost every round for 9 rounds straight! JuanMa didn't drop him but had stunned him a couple times. Penelosa was not only being hit, he was being hit HARD. Did you not see the discoloring and swelling of his left eye post-fight?

Also the fact that he landed less than 100 punches with JuanMa landing over 400 and throwing more than a 1000 punches is a clear indication of the way the fight was going. Penelosa couldn't/wouldn't have been able to slow down/stop JuanMa's assault and would've taken a beatin for another 3 rounds.

Roach did the right thing in protecting his fighter.

We ain't talking about PAc, and you can't even spell moron. When you guys write ignorant posts saying or implying that fans want to see fighters hurt, you disgust me in the worst way. I usually ban poster like you who don't have a brain, but ignoring guys like you might be a mistake. I can't call you on the idiocy that you post unless someone quotes one of your moronic posts.

Guys, Penalosa was one of my favorites since the early 90's...probably a time when some of you weren't even watching boxing yet...no disrespect. Penalosa didn't want the fight stopped. I was a former fighter, AND a world champion, and I do not care if any of you believe me. Maybe I went to far as to say I lost respect for Roach, but what you guys ee on television is not what's going on in the ring at all. JuanMa knew he was in a tough fight and said so afterwards. If Penalosa says he didn't want it stopped, I'm with the fighter. He was not taking a beating. Penalosa is one of the very best in the game, and I've met him, and he is a defensive genius with a heck of a chin. **** all of you who think I wanted to see him hurt. Sorry Eastsideboxing.

How in da hell was "Froch's hard jab landing all night" when his hands were below his waist 90 percent of the fight? That was the WORST RJJ impression ever.........that is why his head was snapping back most of the night.
