No matter what you say about Calzaghe's level of opponents, a guy close to his prime who is unbeaten for 18 years is not going to lose for the first time to a 43 years old fighter, no matter how good B-Hop once was. Prime Hopkins (from the Glen Johnson fight) beats prime Calzaghe in my opinion, and also beats prime Roy Jones. But I can't see someone as good as Joe Calzaghe losing to a 43 year old, no matter how skilled Bernard Hopkins is. I hate to say it, but Hopkins' chances are very slim.
43 for most is different than 43 for someone like hops who hasn't been damaged and has taken good care of himself. this is the right weight for hops and he won't show that much of a difference in performance compared to 10 years ago. btw, look at couture
Have you ever had a pro fight? A guy who has not lost once in his whole career is a sack of ****? You must get punched in the mouth a lot going around talking crap like that.:rofl
yes, you are absolutely right. and here is proof that hopkins is past it: jermain taylor twice not only lasted the distance, but made it a close fight. that would NEVER have happened were it a prime hopkins.
I know history well. There is a reason why Jones never gave B-Hop the rematch. Between 1997-2001 Bernard Hopkins was a beast, the best fighter in the world. Roy was lucky to meet a very green B-Hop, who a few months later was knocked down twice by an average fighter. I know it's not popular here but I maintain: prime B-Hop is better fighter than prime Jones. No version of Jones shuts out Glen Johnson, Trinidad and Tarver- not even close to that.
Bernard "Nobody Knows Who I Am" Hopkins wanted a 50/50 split with one of the biggest names in the sport, the P4P #1 and the guy who beat him last time :rofl :rofl :rofl atsch Jones offered him 60/40 on national television...Hopkins refused :deal
