As the title says, I love Boxing, but I can't stand some of the fans who just keep talking nonsense atsch . It's been crazy this weekend more so then normal. I already think there's a general lack of objectivity when it comes to sports, and it seems to be the worst in boxing. These self-absorbed fans believe that fighters they love will win, and ones they hate will wake up on the canvass. The Cotto/Margarito fight is a perfect example. Cotto has a better amateur career, is a better boxing, is faster and stronger, and has probably been in against better competition. Yet there are these haters who insist that Margarito will KO Cotto with ease. I'm sorry, but you have to look at it objectively despite who you love and hate. If this fight plays out as it should, Cotto will win, and there will be a lot of haters eating crow--or making excuses, or saying that Margarito was never any good to begin with. The Hopkins/Calzaghe fight is another example. As much as I dislike Calzaghe, I knew that he would probably beat Hopkins--BHOP hasn't fought in an active style for 5 years. Even the Tarver victory was questionable; it showed, in my mind, how pathetic Tarver was in that fight, not how good BHOP was. Well, all that having been said, Calzaghe beat him in a CLOSE fight, and yes, the compubox numbers were way off, but Cal still won. Mayweather/Cotto, a fight that may never happen, is another example. I have mixed feelings about Mayweather, and I love Cotto, but all things considered, Mayweather might win that fight, and might even win it easily. Who knows? Styles make fights and until two fighters get in the ring, you never know. But you can AT LEAST use some evidence to support your prediction, evidence beyond "I love A and hate B". Am I the only Boxing fan out there that feels this way? :? :huh
Stop whinning and crying . . . son. This is a boxing forum . . . and unfortunately a lot of posters are not real boxing fans but simple nuthuggers.
I sence a strong Cotto biased. So what your really saying is that people that think Margo will knock Cotto out are the ones that you cant stand.
Its not just that some fans believe the fighter that they love will win... its also that some fans believe they have ultimately better knowledge of the sport. When making predictions they refuse to see another opinion and if proved wrong they blame it on something else (referee, judges etc etc)
I see someone needs Hooked On Phonics atsch This is exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for proving my point :good
Oh I'm not crying B...Just trying to see if anyone else feels the sameway about this as I do. I love to debate and read different point of views, but sometimes some fans like to t-bag way too much :tong
Dude are you serious??? maybe you should read what you wrote. You talked about all the advantages that Cotto had over Margo, while Floyd enjoys those same advantages over Cotto and you say that Floyd MAY win but styles make fights. I take that as you just making an example that you really dont believe only to make your point. My guess is that you no more think that Floyd can beat Cotto as you do that Margo can beat Cotto...Only a moron cant see thought that. I have been on boxing websites for many years now, and its classic. OH you are all bad fans but Im a great fan, cuz I think that my guy can lose....Bullsh*t.
I guess you can say that's the real problem that I have in general regarding sports of any kind. Being a Homer, NutHugger or whatever other phrase you'd like to use. There's just no reaching them on any level to try and have an objective and unbiased debate. You can have your view, but it's not the only view of the scenery...You know?
You're not crying and whinning??? Then what this? "but sometimes some fans like to t-bag way too much". :rofl You love to debate? Then go on and debate and stop opening trash threads antagonizing other posters. :yep
Unless you're an AM supporter why would you get soo upset that I predicted Cotto to win against AM. It was a general statment and example due to a good amount of posters picking AM by KO or TKO, but still completely ignoring that the facts are in Cotto's favor. That is being biased in your opinion as a fan. Also I stated that "IF THE FIGHT PLAYS OUT AS IT SHOULD" and the key word in that sentence is "IF" then I shouldn't be wrong in my prediction because again the facts lean in favor of Cotto. Now how is that doubting my prediction? Also in regards to Mayweather vs Cotto. Not for nothing, but I may not care for PBF, but being a Cotto Fan or not. I can't deny the mans talent and skillz in the ring. That's why I gave my unbiased opinion taking into account the facts about PBF career achievments and P4P ranking as the best fighter in the world. I even said "He could win easily"....What more do you want? I supported my opinions with something of substance and with a lil bit of facts. Which is not common sometimes when discussing sports. Usually it's either swinging over to the left too much or way too the right, and never in the middle. Where you can see the whole field. That was my point of the thread. Actually backing up your statments with something called facts, and not just stating your opinion as fact. No matter how crazy and assanine they may be.

I wasn't trying to come off as Holyer then thou...Just sparking up a debate about something I was thinking about at 6 something in the morning. Damn I'm hungry.....Mongu and Queso Frito sounds good right about now.
I don't know what you are talking about because when it comes to his point about objectivity of many posters he is damn right.
Nopes . . . I don't disagree with you . . . I'm just pointing out that we can't control the other posters no matter how illogical they may be. Jesus . . . somebody in this forum is even calling his fighters . . .God. :yep :-(
