I love Bud, but can't put him on Floyd's level. Not greater or better, IMHO.

    Floyd would never have done something as ballsy as fighting Canelo at 168, that’s for sure.
    But the guy went through a murderer’s row: De La Hoya, Hatton, Mosley, Cotto...

    Crawford is a marvel, no doubt, but I just don’t see him doing anything EVEN better than Mayweather.
    Thoughts?

    P.S. Not a Floyd fanboy. I stopped being a boy a long time ago, I'm afraid.

    He's arguably the best of his era along with usyk. Don't think either are greater than pbf though.

    Floyd would beat Crawford. I really question how Crawford would do against slick movers considering he never fought any besides Madrimov. Floyd has never fought anyone like Crawford but he beat way world class fighters

    Mayweather avoided fighters with a longer reach than him like the plague. Wanted zero parts of Paul Williams.

    Wouldn't be surprised if Crawfords reach gives him an issue.

    No, Crawford has a 2 inch reach advantage.

    Crawford's a fantastic fighter

    Four weight champ

    His best wins in 42 fights all bar 1 at home all either much or smaller, his size, a bit bigger

    Clenelo
    Spence
    Postol
    Porter
    Burns
    Gamboa
    Madrimov

    And there's context that needs to be factored in for those wins too

    Broner is a four weight champ. Never undisputed but the list of one weight champs better than him is vast

    Burns is a three weight champ, the list of one weight champs better than him is vast

    Floyd simply fought a much higher level of opposition than Crawford and when he moved up in weight he actually was facing bigger or much bigger guys

    His resume doesn’t come close to Floyd’s, but I think he’s the better fighter at 140&147.

    I just rewatched both Canelo-Crawford, and then Mayweather-Canelo, It’s night and day how far more advanced Floyd was in comparison to both of them. Canelo had more success against Crawford, but he simply didn’t do enough and abandoned the jab and feints, and being his usual stationary plodder. Stylistically, Mayweather-Crawford would’ve been a good chess match, but Floyd would’ve won. Crawford doesn’t look too good against opponents with good footwork/movement, feints, level-changes of punches, etc.

    Crawford can't help the era of 147 he fought in. He would have beaten any version of Khan. Porter may not have many signature wins, but he's always a quality opponent and brings his A-game. Arum was trying to put him in with Pacquiao, but it didn't happen for whatever reason.

    One means of comparison is to examine their resume with respect to potential Hall of Famers they fought.

    Crawford: 1 ( Canelo)
    Floyd: 9, maybe?
    * Manny
    * DLH
    * Cotto
    * Moseley
    * Marquez
    * Hatton
    * Gatti
    * Castillo
    * Corales

    I'm guessing since none have been inducted but it's clear Floyd has much better boxers on his resume.
