Cant be bothered reading past page 1 of this thread..but i'll just chip in with even though i was wanting Hatton to win that fight he got schooled. It was Floyd picking him off and moving around him freely doing his thing. Hatton was coming forward in the only way he knows using his "intelligent pressure" which equals using his face as a shield. Hatton really needs to learn defense IMO and I'm not suprised hes running scared of Witter right now. 2 losses in a row would destroy his confidence. He knows that would be a risky fight and thats the only reason IMO he wont take it - never mind the BS about Witter not being a draw...I mean c'mon whos this top draw hes hes fighting next? Haha I rest my case. Witter holds the no.1 belt in the WBC and thats all the incentive most fighters would ever need espesh when they dont have a belt of their own.
joe cortez wouldnt let ricky fight inside all fight then he does exactly the opposite allowing hopkins to grab and use dirty tricks without warnings,"oh yeah and any1 else ask themselves "mr cortez" you aint playing with a full deck! wtf are you telling both fighters your going to take points off both and they just want to fight its you "mr cortez" i wouldnt say ruined the last 2 fights on your own but you have to live with yourself knowing you ****ed up both mega fights! retire please.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i want steve smoger refereeing mega fights not old men like mr "shotdead",,,errrr i meant "CORTEZ"
You lot have short memories. Hatton is an elite fighter. Two weight champion. At light welterweight he will prove himself the man again you wait and see. Then you'll all be on her elicking his arse again after he gets a few wins. Fickle lot
He is a two weight world champion indeed. With better nutrition in the earlier stages of his career, he could have been a three or even four weight champion - the tale of the tape shows Manny Pac to be the bigger framed of the two! At 147 he would merely be an excellent gatekeeper if honest.
Some fighters can go up in weight and some can't. Against Collazo the KD won him the fight. But the effort against the bigger guy was that of a true champion
In that he won a fight when it would have been easier to take a dive and lose? IMO - he didn't win that one because of the KD, he had seven rounds on my card. A 10-8 for in the first, and against in the last, so 114-112.
Yeah , he was getting smashed with that left hook all night. Perfect timing with it as it connected most times he threw it. I will admit Hatton made it interesting with his constant charging and guillotine choke holds.
Cortez broke the clinches in both fights. The difference is that Hatton wanted to hold and hit while Hopkins and Calzaghe just wanted to hold.
Hatton was making Floyd work harder than usual, but most of the clean shots throughout were landed by Mayweather. Lederman did his usual "he's being the aggressor so he's winning regardless of who's landing the clean shots" routine.
