Wow...I hope everyone can see what just happened here. LukeO just posted that Floyd was Offered a contract and did not agree to it...so then Arum Signed a fight between Pacquiao vs Clottey. And made seem as if this was the TRUE ACCOUNT OF THE EVENT!!!

Fact: Roach said (and there is video of this) "we will test anywhere, anytime". Then 3 weeks later, "Ok, we will only test 30 days out from the fights". Then 9 days later "We only test 21 days out from the fight".

Also FACT: Weeks after the Cotto fight in an interview with Dan Rafeal when asked about a possible fight with PBF, Roach said: "WE WILL NEED FAR MORE TIME TO PREPARE FOR MAYWEATHER'S STYLE, BECAUSE MANNY HAS NEVER FOUGHT ANYONE LIKE FLOYD. So IMO Roach/Arum/Pacquiao HAD NO INTENTIONS ON FIGHTING FLOYD IN MARCH!!!

That demand was as stupid as the Olympic style testing demand and it was a "by-product" of the allegations and demands that Floyd created. Stupid is as stupid does Gina.

 

What's "relevant" about DEMANDING tests for a fight when neither fighter has any ties, connections or proof that they are dirty?

That just seems to be an obstacle created by one party to delay or kill a fight that they don't want.

The fighter's health? What is "relevant" about a job asking a prospective employee to drug test? Everything. If you want to get the money you test. If not? Move on.

 

Anything can be made an obstacle but WHY create a new one when there are plenty of other "Potential" obstacles that are already built in to the process of making a fight?:think PAC agreed to the demands with his own stipuations on how soon blood could or wold be withdrawn close to the day of the fight. Reasonable considering how UNREASONABLE Floyd was in spreading the rumors that had no foundation to begin with. I admit the weight penatly was stupid and it was basically a shot they took at Floyd b/c of his issues with the weight when he failed to meet JMM at their ORIGINAL contracted weight.

 

Look...I agree that the fight should be on a level playing field...this ain't hop scotch or golf. But I have NO DOUBT that both of these two men are clean fighters with extraordinary abilities and god given gifts. Which only rival each other in that area.

I'm all for stricter testing to be imposed by the commission and taken on as standard boxing wide. But Floyd shouldn't be the one singling out one guy who doens't have any ties to being dirty to begin with nor was it acceptable how Floyd set out to tarnish Manny's rep without any proof or eveidence just so he could have a foundation for his Olympic style blood testing demands.

Floyd created this situation and it caused this fight to have obstacles that were NOT necessary. He could have faced manny without the over dramatic demands and without the "rumor mill" going full blast.

 

Not if you are superstitious enough to think that drawing blood near the fight makes you weak.

Any way....the 10 mill penalty for coming in over 147 was dumb just b/c it was meant to be a cheap shot at Floyd and his recent probelms with weight to combat Floyd's accusations about Manny cheating his entire career. It actually didn't really help manny's case but it didn't really hurt it either b/c 147 is the weight limit anyways.:rofl
