I love how everyone thinks Tyson Fury has pillow fists and can't punch

Fury punches like a ***** and fighters retire due to boredom

 

People say this who are not boxing fans and don't understand the sport. He is a classic scientific boxer who usually does not set down on his punches. When he does set down, he can punch.

 

Of course he can punch.. if he fought differently to how he does, but at the end of the day he's an accumalitive puncher, when he actually throws he wears ppl down and can tko most but trouble is he just doesn't do enough half the time.

If he can indeed incorporate a little more command and chooses moments to sit into his punches at appropriate times, not constantly but picking the right moments, it could be a game changer for fury.

Big change this far along though, we'll soon see how it all went in camp with sugar in such a short space. It's a toughy!

 

He's not pillow fisted but he definitely doesn't have 'very good power'. He could have fought Wilder and Klitschko 100 times over without scoring a knockdown, nevermind a KO.

If anything his power shot is his jab. When he sits on it he can start doing some damage.

 

He had better power in his early fights, back when he was a very sloppy fighter. He refined his boxing skills and lost his power in the process. I'm sure he still has a decent left hook buried away in their somewhere. He might be in fear of unleashing the KO to himself . Nowhere near Wilders power though but enough to drop Wilder as a few have said with cumulative shots as long as he doesn't pause halfway through to start showboating.

 

Hopefully Wilder doesn't land early and we get to see Fury throwing with conviction here and seeing what he can do if he's training for a KO (if we're to believe him, but I tend to since he wanted another trainer to at least work with Ben likely because Ben was extremely defensively orientated, perhaps too much so ... that's why Roach and Ben had problems).

As for Wallin not being stopped, maybe he actually has a good chin, who knows. He remarked that he was hurt a number of times and respected Fury's 'pop'.

Wilder's pillow comments aren't to be taken seriously. Anybody could see he was hurt in the final round from the counter, since he slumped and held just like he did against Ortiz. And you don't do that if you've just badly KD'd an opponent and want to finish him before the final bell.
