I love how everyone thinks Tyson Fury has pillow fists and can't punch

Good post. Fury has some pop but he’s the weakest linear heavyweight champion in terms of power since,,,,Mike Spinks and that was over 30 years ago.

Wilder can’t take a good punch. He picks the right opponents. This who can’t hit. Or those who are not aggressive. Or those who are old.

I do think a Fury hits hard enough to stop Wilder but I suspect a Fury decision with fair judging. If the fight is close, Fury can be robbed again.

 

Fury has freakish size and movement for a big man. He doesn’t set his feet and sit down on his punches because it’s not his game. He’s a boxer, one of the best boxing big men I have seen. Throwing big shots subjects a fighter to receiving big shots in return. With Furys size, he doesn’t need to take those chances because he can jab and move his way to victory. It isn’t always pretty but it’s very effective. I’m sure if Fury wanted to, he could throw a more powerful punch. He will never be Wilder, a guy with atomic bombs in both hands, but if Fury fights his fight, stays disciplined and focused, he will defuse those bombs and get his arm raised.

Boxing isn’t street fighting. It’s about using your strengths to win a fight. Good fighters dictate the pace and style of a fight. Lesser fighters let their opponent dictate the fight and often give up their own strengths in the process. Fans may complain but the goal of a fighter is to win the fight. Fury has the ability to outbox any HW if he stays focused and fights his style of fight. Throwing bombs, going for the KO and taking unnecessary risks would be foolish.

I feel like most of those people have never been punched. My gf rocked me in the jaw a week ago and that **** rocked my vision, shes only 135. Getting hit by anyone in the face sucks.

 

Technique sucks and his punches are slow. But he is huge. If you're at the end of one of his overhand rights...

Good call. I too thought he could do it. I thought if Fury actually took it to him, Wilder would be in trouble. I never expected him to do it though.
