still you didn't answer my question, i asked you what would you say if floyd went against your wishes and fought cotto instead of de la hoya, would you still say de la hoya deserves a shot and that cotto is a nobody who beat nobody and floyd is doing nothing for his legacy fighting a guy like cotto?

Lance is correct but none of this matters Arum could have offered 20 million but Margo is not DLH. Floyd has wanted Oscar for years and years and years.

I believe if Floyd goes ALL of 2008 without fighting like I thihnk he will do..and if Cotto beats Williams and Cintron in the meantime...Cotto might be P4P number 1..passing....Floyd.

Then those two fight it out in Vegas for the Unification of the WW division..biggest fight in the sport bar none.

Floyd should just retire after fighting Oscar because he is so good he doesn't even need to fight the other WW contenders to have a win on them, he would become the greatest ever :rofl

Floyd moved up to fight DLH. DLH was the champion. 34 years old or not.

Shane wasn't a champion. (Cotto has never taken a championship)

Mitchell was a warmup fight for 147. Simple as that.

I already explained why Floyd fought Gatti. learn to read.

Lineal Champion fight Lineal Champion, when did that become something we are against? I dont remember anyone complaining about Hagler-Hearns.

Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. rejected promoter Bob Arum's $8 million offer to fight welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, and he instead exercised a provision in his contract to buy Arum out and become a promotional free agent, Arum told ESPN.com on Monday.

I wonder why Arum would tell ESPN that..

I know he bought himself out. It was after that that Arum made the offer of 8 mill and no options.

He told ESPN that because it was true. Do you think that was the ONLY offer Arum made?

    He's made at least three.

Dude, Arum said he made the offer to Floyd but would not promise more than 7 Million for Cotto or Hatton.

Thats why Floyd bought out Arum.

So you agree its true, Floyd bought himself out of his contract with Arum because Arum wanted to pay Floyd less for even bigger fights in the future.

Nope but that doesn't change it was Lineal vs Lineal match up.

The only reason I see why it was for Floyds title was because he needed to make a defense. If you look at the weight of both fighters. They came in as Jr WWs basically. Floyd was 148/148 fight night(What he is as a JR WW)

Hatton was 154 (he weighs that as a JR WW) - So basically a JR WW title fight for the WW title.
