Floyd wanted to set up a mega fight with Zoo.

Tszyu - Following his second victory over Mitchell, Tszyu stated in the post fight interview he wanted to unify in a big PPV fight against Arturo Gatti. Before doing that Tszyu had to make a mandatory defense paid for hansomely by Frank Warren. Floyd even back in 2005 was in no position to just demand fights with whoever he wanted. What better way to corner Tszyu than take the belt he wants? No fighter in their right mind would pass up the oppurtunity to make a PPV debut in a sold out Atlantic City arena. Tszyu unfortunately didnt come through on his end of the deal.


Brussles was a WBC Elim, then he fought Gatti for the belt, Zoo failed to come through his end of the deal, Hatton beat Zoo and wanted no part of Floyd at 140.

Hmm well, Zoo publically stated it he wanted the PPV with Gatti.


Floyd was in no place to demand fights like now. Zoo wanted a PPV, what better way to set it up then take the belt he wants, then set up a date to fight.

Floyd fought Brussles in a WBC Eliminator - (Theres no way around it)


Frank Warren got Zoo to defend his title against Hatton. Floyd fought and beat Gatti. Zoo lost. Floyd wanted Hatton. Hattons dad said they arn't ready for Floyd yet.

 

why didn't floyd just directly go for zoo like hatton did?
