It's a really good fight, most all of us want to see it. Your billing might be a little too lofty, though. @tinman mentioned DLH-Tito, a real meeting of superstars, and another fellow mentioned Floyd-Pac (perhaps not pure welters, but established ones nonetheless).

I am saying this has the feel of SRL vs Hearns 1. Trust me I am older guy I was around then. DLH-Tito was great, Curry-McCory was also highly anticipated but this is a real trade fight that even those predicting it will go one way or the other are not genuinely sure. This is for the purists like SRL vs Hearns.

I see what you're getting at now. It's overcooked compared to Leonard-Hearns or Trinidad-De La Hoya, and I'd say on a lower tier in terms of the quality of the principles (as Trinidad and De La Hoya represented a step down from Ray and Tommy, so do Spence and Crawford represent a step down from Tito and Oscar), but it's definitely the most tasty meeting of established championship welters in a good while.

I'm indulging the streak of pedantry I have when it comes to boxing terminology here, but 'trade fight' tends to refer to the sport's well-kept secrets, sizzling matchups that fly under the radar of the masses. Leonard-Hearns had a lot for the purist, but also a ton of mainstream appeal. Same goes for Spence-Crawford, even if to a lesser crossover extent — while it can be said that Spence isn't yet a superstar, and that Crawford trails a ways behind him in profile, it's a really promotable matchup that should secure Errol his best PPV buyrate to date (all involved will be disappointed if they don't at least crack the 400,000 mark). Even Curry-McCrory was too big to be thought of as a trade fight, being a HBO World Championship Boxing main event with the men earning the bigger part of a million dollars each (though, as a fight fan residing in Britain, it may have felt like more of an esoteric deal).

I think Crawford and Spence maybe technically better than Oscar and Tito but not much in it really.

Do you agree with my comment saying no one in history can beat Shakur at 130?

No I don’t agree at all but I think his a genuine great talent. At 130 peak version of my uncle Azumah Nelson would beat him, so would Floyd Mayweather, Alexis Arguello, Tank Davis possibly, Hector Camacho. I understand your point though because he could potentially beat everyone of them but I think these guys would take him out.

I've seen better trash talk between @JOKER and @Pimp C debating Pacman/Mayweather topics.

I'm with the rest, wake me up when the fight is signed. I'm already saving my penny's in anticipation of a ridiculously over priced PPV.

    That was my first thought
    De La Hoya Vs Trinidad
Was a bigger WW fight but without sounding insulting, the thread starter may be too young to remember that fight and the build up.
Let's not forget that that fight was over 22 years ago

If Crawford finally steps up to make this fight happen then all credit will be given, but im skeptical about it. Theres nothing holding him back now, lets wait and see if hes all talk or real about it.

They both need to step forward to make this fight happen. It should be a 50/50 split too. Neither of them deserve a penny more than the other. And to the winner will go the spoils.

Spence should get the bigger cut.

Really, why do you believe so? And what's a fair split? If Crawford would only fight for 50/50 split, would you still hold the same view?

Difference this is a genuine 50:50 matchup whereas @Pimp C vs @JOKER is a mismatch between a Don in Pimp C and a pgymy in Joker. Joker is a joke with no hope a roach a bloody cockroach. Pimp C stamps on the cockroach Joker.

60/40 in Spences favor, or 55/45 is fair. Spence has the better resume and 3 out of the 4 major titles, if Crawford wants 50/50 i doubt the fight will happen.
