If nothing else, this man has a fantastic vocabulary. I just watched him casually use "skullduggery". This must be a product of growing up in Cus' home?
Mike Tyson is much smarter than given credit for. Another one to add to the list is neophyte. His fighting prime persona was really a caricature.
Tyson used to read the dictionary to find words and their meaning so he could use them in everyday conversations. he was self educating.
Tyson is smarter than the herps in this thread who act like he is pulling words out of a hat which he doesn't understand. He'd fck you in your asses intill you love him. How is it funny that he uses his great vocabulary? or is it that you don't understand the words he uses?
tyson reads a lot. his knowledge of boxing alone is insane. well, boxing from the 1900 down....hes not up on his current shi.t at all. sh.it, he was married to a dr once, im sure he picked up a nice vocab from her....
I don't know if Cus went around saying "fornicate" and "skullduggery", but I once heard Mike say "relief" for welfare. As in "Back then everyone was on relief." It was called that during the Depression, so that's actually the correct term if you're talking about those times. I could easily see him getting that from Cus. But Mike's always saying some impressive ****. One of my favorite stories about Mike was told by James Toback, who made the movie "Tyson." Toback said that, for the movie, he wanted Mike to stand on a beach in front of the waves and recite a poem. Mike didn't like the idea at all. Mike asked him what poem it was, and Toback said "The Ballad of Reading Gaol" by Oscar Wilde. And Mike said, "Do you know who Oscar Wilde's lover was?" And Toback said, "Lord Alfred Douglas." And Mike said, "And do you know who Lord Alfred Douglas's father was?" And Toback said, "The Marquis of Queensbury." And then Mike said, "All right, I'll read the poem."
I know my favorite was when he was being interviewed on Sky News, he got really pissed off when the reporter kept asking him about his past **** case ect, Interviewer goes "Mike i want to see if you have changed" Tyson just goes " i must have because i'm not asaling you right now" Asaling Tyson uses some fancy words for a guy from the streets.
He read a lot in prison and Cus D'Amato certainly had influence over him. He has a great vocabulary - reading his autobiography there were times when I had to pull out the dictionary to understand what he meant.
