Garcia was a bit too reluctant for my liking against Holt, He does have some skills but far from being unbeatable. I think Morales will test him in what should be a back and forth affair. Danny is not ready to hold a belt yet IMO, he is barely breaking the top 10 at 140. I would hate for him to become 140's version of canelo because of GBP. Ohh and for the 500,000 time....he IS RICAN!!!!

 

Still, Morales will beat Danny garcia.

On the real I think Garcia will win but who the **** gave Morales a chance vs Maidana??? Logic says Garcia but who's to say he can deal with Morales trickyness? edge to Garcia but wouldn't be shocked to see Morales outsmart him and find something that works despite appearing visibly slower and less powerful.

Maidana had and has a lot of flaws that his power makes up for. An old fox and uber tough man like EM could exploit those flaws. Garcia doesn't have those technical flaws and he's got plenty of power and he's young. I just don't like this fight for Erik. He doesn't need to be fighting young superstars to be, he should be fighting for big paydays ONLY, preferably against other vets maybe slightly past their best who will try to outskill him instead of just bring it to him relentlessly.

 

I felt exactly the same before the Maidana fight.
There's method in this apparent madness.On paper,it looks like a terrible match up,and one of these days Erik is going to look very old in the ring,but he'd never have took this fight if he hadn't spotted a weakness he can expose.
Won't be shocked if he loses,but got a sneaky suspicion he can pull off a shock.

im telling you guys garcia is going to work him and its going to be painful to watch, morales is my boy but its just how i feel. i actually think garcia is really good . very bright future.

 

I scored garcia vs holt 116-112, 115-113 for holt was bull**** but garcia didnt look great that night, he even tried a floyd style cheap shot but failed.
Morales was there that night looking at his fight and the the lineares vs demarco one.
He will have done his homework and studied garcia along with his experience will make him do well, I dont expect garcia to stop erik or beat him widely more that its going to be a close fight that might be 115-113 style with all the morales fans screaming robbery.
I hope Morales pulls it off somehow since I still want to see marquez vs morales, and that will never happen if he loses vs garcia.

 

I once thought the same, back in Swifty's tenure on Solo Boxeo as a hot prospect - before he looked pedestrian twice in a row when stepping up to barely world class level against Campbell and Holt. He clearly beat them both (117-111 against Holt on my card; and 96-94 against Campbell...the judges had it too wide that night), but didn't look very impressive either time - and both are arguably more used-and-abused by the sport than Morales is.

Against both Hold and Campbell he was extremely sloppy and inaccurate at times, and he even ran away from Campbell!

This is Morales we're talking about.

Prime Morales was obviously on a much higher tier than prime Campbell and prime Holt, so why wouldn't "well done" Morales be on a proportionately higher tier than "well done" Campbell & Holt?
