No you're missing the point. I'm saying, in terms of FLOYD'S opponents. Why does it matter if he is a credible welterweight? Floyd may be currently fighting at 147, but he has fought at 140. If Floyd and Ricky were both still at 140 llbs and fought the fight would have gone exactly the same way. The fight may have taken place in the welterweight division... but considering Floyd has fought in many weight divisions, and Ricky really didn't go up in weight to fight at welterweight, he just didn't cut as much weight as he usually does. Floyd may be the welterweight champ, but its clear he really is more concerned with his Pound for Pound status. If you think of him as the 'pound for pound' champ, then Hatton was a completely legit opponent.

Before Floyd knocked out Ricky, nobody had a poblem with him fighting him.

Oh shut the **** up. Don't be such an idiot. There is talk of Hatton v. Pacquiao, but anyone who knows **** about boxing knows its a terrible match! Hatton v. Pacquiao is far fetched, but Floyd is even bigger than Hatton. Floyd v. Pacquiao would be ridiculous. It woud be just like Floyd moving up to super middleweight or light heavyweight.

The difference is, Pacquiao at 130 lbs is already several weight classes above the weight he started off at as a professional. So is Floyd. For Pacquiao to move up THREE MORE weight classes right now at the end of his career is absolutely absurd.

Pound for pound rankings only help in selecting an opponent if that opponent is very close to you in weight. As far as Hatton is concerned, even though he fights in the 140 lb division, he weighs more than Floyd on fight night by almost 10 lbs sometimes, and in between fights he probably weighs 30 lbs more than Floyd!

How can Floyd be ducking Cotto if he has already said he wants to fight him? Everyone knows that Floyd will fight Cotto. Obviouslly its not going toearere happen this year because Floyd already has a fight scheduled!! Floyd wants Cotto to get some more fans before they fight. Floyd is a big name, and a decent draw but he's only a BIG draw when he's fighting someoneone that people really want to see fight him. If Cotto could beat Margarito convcingly that may get him the fans and PPV buyers that he needs to make it worth Floyd's time to fight him.

He spent the majority of his career fighting at 130 lbs. He's not obligated to fight welteweights. He could move up to 154 if he wanted, or go clean out junior welterweight if he wanted.

shane fight with Collazo was nothing to write home about, Collazo was never in trouble and in fact stated that he injured himself during the fight ..

In any case they both beat Collazo the only difference is Hatton getting put on quire street in the last round but nether fighter looked impressive against Collazo.

Floyd was ranked number one in the pound for pound list before he moved up to 147. He doesn't NEED to do anything at 147. And pound for pound is about being able to compete against people REGARDLESS of their size. Beating Cotto would be a good win... but by the very nature of the concept of pound for pound, beating a top 154 lb fighter or even a mediocre middleweight would mean just as much as beating Cotto.

But none of this matters. You know why? Because Floyd is going to fight Cotto. Everyone knows this. Why do you keep bitching and moaning about it like a little girl when its OBVIOUS that Floyd is going to fight Cotto sometime next year?
