I was hesitating until I saw that two of the refs are neutral now, South Africa and Sweden. That is good enough for me.

Can you imagine what the odds on this thing would be if Kessler was the American black fighter and Ward was the European white fighter, everything else being the same?

They would say Ward can't hit, that he is afraid to engage and has no chin because he was hurt by a very low level fighter. They would say Kessler is a monster that had Calzaghe figured out and forced him to back off and that he has dominated the others in his path clearly and is the undisputed #1 at 168.

They would no longer belittle Kessler's accomplishments and give Ward so much respect before he has defeated a top super middle.

Ward might win this fight but the odds aren't right here. It is a faulty perception.

On top of that I don't think Ward can win it anyways.

    So I made my bet.

    Straight
    wager
    11/19/09 21:31 ET
bet 1,000.00 to win 500.00 Result: Pending
    Kessler vs Ward
    Mikkel Kessler
    Andre Ward 11/21/2009(21:30 ET)
    Mikkel Kessler -200

here are all my bets since the beginning of the year

I made a similar one, only I put down $500 on it. I think the odds on Kessler right now are an absolute bargain.

I put £100 down on ward on points. Easiest £600 to date.

I pretty sure you just lost a grand...Not positive...I am an inch away from putting $300 on Ward...

Will you be around after the fight?

$300 on Ward will get you $495

I'm always here after, if not, it only means I'm not in front of my computer yet. I've been on boxing forums for years betting posting and generally winning.

I enjoy the whole process, making the predictions and getting the glory or if I have to take my lumps, I do that too.

I am one of the few that will own up.

But will all of you report back to my thread and admit you were wrong?

    They rarely do.

    fair enough.

Usually I don't bet this much, you can check my linked thread. I like Kessler in the fight but the odds are what made me go big, I feel he is a steal at those odds.

I actually respect Ward's skill set, I just respect Kessler's more.

We shall see who is right.

yeah you got to factor in the judges, if the judges weren't tweaked I may not have bet as much, probably not

i've been screwed like that many a time

cintron / martinez comes to mind, I had martinez of course who knocked him out and cintron whined his way back into it after it was stopped and he had a nice rest, only to still lose the rest of the way and somehow manage a draw

a piece of advice to those who doubt my pick:

    ward is not calzaghe
    kessler is not miranda

hmmm, even if you thought dirrell won i wouldn't call it an awful decision, unless you think he smoked froch, which, well...he didn't.

an awful decision is casamayor vs cruz, holy **** that was bad, terrible.

those judges should be publicly hanged with cruz doing the honors

I feel that this is a real pick 'em fight and I was going to go with the underdog. So, I'm taking Ward.
