He is not even around on his own thread...Probably thinking that $1000 mean while my sportsbook account just grew. I told him.

Betting is all about the odds...I always bet on live underdogs... In my eyes this fight was a steal because I always saw ward as the favorite. The only thing I ever worried about was how durable he was...

it sucks for me for sure that I lost. I would even go so far as to say that my entire year of betting was leading up to this one big play and this was the fight I chose to make it on and I lost. But thats the gambling and I love betting on boxing. I never play with money I can't lose and if I have to go all the way down to 10 dollar bets I will.

Betting helps me understand the sport better because it inspires me to research the fights and fighters more and all the other factors, which in turn, adds to my enjoyment of the show.

    Its all good.

Rematch with a neutral ref and Kessler as a +300 underdog,
    hmmmmm

If I were the type to get down after a losing bet, I wouldn't be doing it since I usually miss about 1/4 of the time.

I appreciate the sentiment though. :thumbsup

Sorry for that man, glad to hear it wasn't rent or a car payment. :good

Curious though, in my reading, it was those who knew nothing of Ward who wrote him off, those who researched him, as you said, knew he had the goods. What was it about Kessler that gave you the confidence for such a heavy bet?

Stovepipe. OUCH man. 1000 dollars sucks. I guess you are still up overall if you started with $200 though. You win some, you lose some. If you are in it for the money then it only matters that you get ahead on average - which you have. If you just enjoy the whole process of betting then you are also doing alright.

I also though Kessler would win. But I never have the confidence to put cash down. I think I would psyche myself into wrong decisions when money was on the line.
Now I just gotta wear a Ward avatar for a month. But like I said in the avatar bet thread - if Ward wins then he deserves to be my avatar for a while!
