chavez jr and his team made a huge mistake in taking this fight, knowing full well that jr was not taking his training seriously and after having a year lay off, not too mention grossly underestimating fonfaras ability. the very fact that jr had to go up in weight because he was too lazy and unwilling to train hard enough to fight at his optimum weight tells you that jr just doesn't have the drive, will, discipline or ambition to be a great fighter.

i think jr just wants to party/eat the majority of the year and fight once or twice a year for paydays. jr is content living off his fathers name and living a playboy lifestyle. the only thing that could turn his career around is some monumental event taking place in his life that would motivate him like no other to turn his life around, his baby daughter being born was not enough. the guy needs to have everything taken away from him, go bankrupt, hit rock bottom, or and i hate to say this but the death of his father could be the only motivating factors that could make him strive to become the fighter he could be if he trained right.

i still believe that if he took his training and diet seriously he could be one of the best at 160.

that is what i was thinking but he does have some decent wins at 160, if he could make that weight he could be one of the top guys. he could beat quillin and his iron jaw at 160 would at least make a ggg fight competitive. i think he beats everyone at 160 not named ggg.

He's had a few questionable wins over middleweights, including first win over Brian Vera. I think style wise Soliman beats him and there are probably a few more. He isn't the number 2 at that weight anyway and he was only at that weight by illegal methods i.e. diaretics, blood doping etc.

    Let's not get carried away.
