I made two threads about it this week...Roach's camp KNEW Martinez's knee was not 100

Cotto is a G. There is no way he could know for sure that Sergio would not be at or close to 100%. The majority of people still picked Sergio to give him a beating. I didn't see many people saying 'Sergio's knee is f#cked, Cotto will win' before the fight.

 

Martinez at post fight press conference said there were no kneed problems, he just got caught good in the 1st round and never recovered.

 

But it clearly was an issue. He had a knee pad on both knees, you could visibly see him being unable to bend his knee, he slipped multiple times and fell down on his face when attempting a punch after planting. They were talking about the knee in his corner.

He clearly doesn't want the knee to be seen as an "excuse" as to why he lost, which is why he's lying saying there were no knee problems, that he just got caught good in the 1st round and never recovered. That's BS, Martinez was a boxing tactician, he had impressive footwork and foot speed and it got him out of harms way. It's so ridiculous that they are just flat out lying about the knee. It was talked about in 24/7.

 

Sergio's fighters mentality seems to be trying to ignore the knee problems instead of accepting that he's not the same guy and admitting a loss of confidence in himself. Another case of what makes a fighter good is also damaging him.

 

He accepted the fight and the money. His knee is part of him. Bye bye Martinez. Res ipsa loquitur.

 

Sergio was the betting favorite with most of the experts and fans picking him to win. Before the fight Sergio said the only reason Cotto took the fight was because of his injuries. Everyone knew Sergio had some issues,.yet Martinez was still favored. No use crying about it now that Cotto won.
Cotto hurt Martinez in the first 30 seconds of the fight ffs. Cotto is the mw champion. If they saw Sergio as vulnerable, it was obviously a smart move that paid off well.

 

He couldn't move his legs because he was stunned over 5 times in the fight you ****ing idiot. Fighters don't complain about injuries or use them as excuses for their losses. Only ***** ass casual fans like you do that.

You know what else makes Martinez look like he did?? Being hurt, and there is far more evidence of that being the case as it perfectly coincided with a massive hook that Cotto landed. Someone explain how his hook did that to his knee??

 

I agree with you. However, calling people you don't know casual fans or saying someone doesn't know anything about boxing just because they disagree with you really isn't saying anything at all. Only a very small percentage of people predicted this outcome. Martinez was the bookies fav and quite comfortably won polls about who would win.
