The key word there is that he said its about the money. it is not that hard to believe, even though this came from someone of the mayweather team. But if his objective is money, which i have a hard time believing, then I could see why they wouldnt want mayweather to fight margo. I dont think mayweather necessarily would be afraid of fighting margarito, but his mgmt would certainly see margarito as a super high risk stock with not enough reward for the risk., especially if they had doubts that mayweather would win (despite of what the true outcome would be or what floyd would think) That is of course before margarito defeated cotto. At that time, the smart business decision, money wise, is to wait and bank on a fight with cotto, considering cotto's stock went up after beating shane mosely.

also note this conversation smoochp states it occured in april, which was before there was knowledge of mayweather retiring. it is likely that guy probably didn't know mayweather wasnt going to retire and back out of the dlh fight.

it makes perfect sense, floyd not fighting someone who poses a real massive threat to him if he can get away with not fighting them and say he makes more money else where..

lowest possible risk for highest possible reward, thats the boxing promoter ects perfect situation.

Floyd new hatton was a good light welterweight, but wasnt convincing at welterweight, and didnt have the style to beat floyd easily.

floyd new marquez was a lightweight and no way a welterweight who would be effective.

Wow, Al Haymon said Margarito would beat Floyd, that's why they avoided him. Wonder what the *****s would say to that today?

    Oh yeah, BUMP.

Sounds about as believable as Mayweather Sr's steroid claims...which tells you everything.
