The British Scene is flawed now and it makes you miss the nineties soooooooooo much. Benn was exciting against anyone and delved into world class matches with glee. My favourite - ****in loved the guy! Eubank may have dodged the column to an extent but he was pure entertainment, as was Naz. Now Lennox is gone:-( Calzaghe recently retired (thankfully) with a padded record and gets called a ****in legend???? Ricky squandered his huge talents, engulfing mcdonalds by the metric ton. I like the guy but stop eating for **** sake. Khan is on thin ice as soon as he fights a BIG PUNCHER. Alexander, Ortiz or Bradley hit him with a flush shot and the referee will be counting for the rest of his natural born ****in life. Kevin Mitchell got battered like a fish and thrown out of world class like a rag doll. Haye wins the title, can't make a Klit fight to save his ****in life, and starts talking about retirement??? Gutted! PS Shout out to Michael Watson also:good
Benn was class. If haye has some bottle he could be similar, loved hatton like he was my 1st born son lol
I totally agree with this. Always loved British boxing, and look what's left of it. And then a few Brits are actually talking about this beïng glory days. :-( They obviously missed the previous generation, or just 'forgot'. Haye should have taken an example to Hide. Maybe he came up short against the best, but at least he stepped in the ring with them.
I think Khan's got the potential to surpass Naz and Eubank in achievements, and sit comfortably behind Lennox Lewis as one of the greatest British fighters in recent times. So it’s not all bad dude.
I think the current batch are failing us but we've got people like George Groves who I think will dominate at Super Middleweight in the future. A brave Paul Smith could do well and we also have the Olympians. Not forgetting a personal favourite in the revived Ryan Rhodes
I actually remember when some people were saying Rhodes would be better than Benn, Eubank and Naz, back in the mid-to-late 90s!
