Things could have been worse, he's still alive, I am glad. But I miss Paul Williams the boxer. I was just looking through his fights right now, from W. Matthysse, Margarito, Quintana II, Wright, Martinez I, what an exciting fighter we lost. I am positive, if Williams was still around, we would have seen Williams vs Canelo [was already signed and sealed], Golovkin, Martinez III, Quillin, Angulo, Rosado etc. The guy took on every one and called out every one from 147-160. Just a fighter that would never turn down any fighter. This guy would have said "Yeah bring Golovkin over here." instead of "He doesn't bring in enough money."
Wow, a really heartfelt post about a fan favorite fighter who was paralyzed in a tragic accident gets turned into a Floyd hater thread in less than 5 posts. atsch
Its a shame what happened to him but as you said it could be worst he is still alive afterall, any word on if he will be able to walk again ?
I just left viewing a thread because of Floyd hate. I swear people can talk about the resurrection of Jesus(whether you believe in it or not) and somehow bring up Floyd's name. Do hope Paul can walk again. If he boxes again fine but hope his health and mind get in tact. As a boxer he gave it his all each time every sport needs an athlete like Paul but not to say he's replaceable.
Whether you felt he won or lost [I thought he lost] against Erislandy Lara, how you fight a guy like Lara, southpaw with power, right after getting knocked out cold by Martinez, a southpaw with power, in your comeback fight? What a dangerous fight he took on for his come back fight. The power shots he took in that fight for 12 rounds showed that Martinez KO was just a case of a punch he did not see coming. When PW sees your punch coming, he can take it, as proven in his fights against Matthysse, prime Brickerito, Quintana I, Martinez I, and Lara.
Pretty sure he will spend the rest of his life is a wheel chair. It's amazing how he manages to stay so positive. Going from a world class boxer to a cripple in a single moment would make a man suicidal but not Paul Williams. The heart he showed inside the ring he now is showing outside the ring
Williams was awesome as a welterweight, he'd throw punches for 12 rounds no problem, had power, heart and a great chin. He's one of those guys that racked up a lot of miles real fast, but he was fun to watch while it lasted.
How could you not miss the guy in the ring? Awesome fighter, crazy heart, crazy stamina, just an awesome guy top watch. I know Winky was out the ring for s while, but damn did he punish him. No one was expecting that, Williams showed what level fighter he was that night. The man fought everyone and wanted everyone even after getting iced. Not many fighters take that road after s brutal ko like that and still come back and want the best. Great guy in and out the ring.. **** off sensitive ass *****s... Why those bitches always talking ****, spreading lies, then cry any time someone speaks some truth on their messiah...
