Of course it was, his win over Miranda was extremely impressive and exciting too.

I think GGG would have stopped Pavlik, but it be a WAR.

Pavlik was several levels better than Macklin, Stevens, and Geale.

Martinez was losing after 8 rounds. The consensus is that it was 4-4, with Pavlik getting the extra point from the KD.

It doesn't take a brilliant performance to beat Kelly Pavlik by 3 points.

Sergio did however look terrific a couple of fights later against Dzinziruk, after scoring a sensational KO over Williams.

that knock down was bullcrap that was more of Martinez being pushed/off balance you see that a lot in Martinez's fights were he trips or is off balance leading to Martinez falling down.Martinez got off to a fast start in the first part of the fight then Martinez gave away the middle rounds of the fight by getting on his bike and not throwing punches pavilik did nothing. second half of the fight Martinez closed the show he should have gotten extra points in those late rounds were he battered pavlik for the whole round while pavlik did nothing except bleed profusely.also pavlik had a rematch clause he chose not to take it pavlik knows he was soundly beaten by Martinez.

Pavlik would have beat Martinez if he had any kind of cut man.

It was a fair knockdown, even though he wasn't hurt.

Pavlik was a good fighter in a poor division/era, nothing special but a fun fighter to watch.

I just don't see how it takes an "amazing" performance to beat someone of Pavlik's caliber 8-4.

Kalambay-McCallum 1, McCallun-Watson, Nunn-Tate, Hagler-Hamsho/Hearns, those were great middleweight performances, those were very convincing victories over better fighters than Pavlik.

I don't think Pavlik was overrated, he just had a short shelf like and him being an alcoholic hurt him later on.

You guys won't believe this but I was eating at this seafood bar that overlooked the sports book at green valley ranch. They had the match live at the sportsbook. Was talking to this gentlemen and we were talking about everything during the match. The blacks were going nuts when Taylor landed that shot. So I'm eating my clam chowder and the guy says he plays Texas hold 'em. I guess he was a semi famous poker player. His name was Charlie Shoten. He said he had Pavlik winning before the KO.

When that KO hit, Fukin everybody in the whole casino went nuts. I almost choked on my bread.

    Fukin spectacular night that night.

Except it doesn't. Taylor is all Pavlik has. Aside from that they're pretty similar. In fact if GGG gets past Rubio I'd lean towards him having a better resume overall, though the lack of a marquee win by GGG probably still puts Kell ahead.
