I personally think that he will beat the brakes off of Manny and let his hands go more than he has lately. He will bully Manny in my opinion.
If you miss the old Floyd, why not enjoy the current Nonito Donaire? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C0L-hzrKvU[/ame]
well everybody ages diffrently roy jones is out there getting his ass kicked by people he would make have siezures back in his day. glenn johnson on the other hand is kicking ass and is in a tournamnt of the best of the best and he is the same age as roy.
I still think floyd is a top fighter, he's outclassed and dominated 2 hall of fame fighters in his last 2 fights...how many boxers can say that? Can manny? He's 33 and at his peak, regardless of how people perceive this, he is in his prime and no way is he declining
nobody is peak at 33 years old and fighting twice a year, period. ever. He's noticeably slower and lighter hitting, he can't chain together the combos he used to be able to either. He makes up for it with experience, great ring generalship and technique but that doesn't mean he isn't declining.
i dont think hes hitting lighter he stops mosley in his tracks, your power is the last thing to go your power and strength peaks at 35 he is heavier on his feet and he is punching alot slower
He is defintely not in his physical prime, for all we know he could be shot (i doubt it though) because he never takes enough punishment for us to gauge his present state and thats a testamnet to how great he is, probably something we cant say about any other fighter not just now but ever, i do believe that he is alot more conservative with his output and tactics. He really is one of the greats.
He is not hitting lighter at all, he could have stopped shane mosley had he gone for the knockout andi am sure you watched the fight. The reason he isnt fighting using combos is because he is more cautious and hasnt really needed to in any of his fights 140 + as those guys tend to fight at a lower workrate.
He's hitting solidly because his feet are more set now, but the quality that got him most of his KD's at lower weights- his speed- has dropped noticeably. And you guys have a point with Mosley but I think that's a poor example because Mosley's own performance in that fight and since was inconsistent and mediocre compared to before. There is no reason to abandon combination punching. He just can't throw them how he used to. It is a skill that fighters lose past their prime, look at Hoya, Tyson, and Louis. It makes little sense for someone to abandon a positive skill because they "don't need it".
yes.... definitely let his hands go more often... I guess he doesnt now because he doesnt believe in his speed and agility as much
