Was busy watching Boston's rout of Minnesota and nearly forgot about Solo Boxeo; tuned it at about 9:30 figuring it'd be a few rounds in, but it was ALL OVAHHHH, as it appears Jhonny stopped Reynaldo in 4. Who saw the fight? How's Jhonny looking? Was it really one-sided? Feel bad for Lopez; beating Oliver was a really great moment for him (I was there live) but I guess it's just not realistic to expect at his age and with his mileage to keep winning at a top level. Every Cinderella story must end. :verysad
I caught most of the fight.. Gonzalez dominated countering from the outside looking sharp and followed up with nice combinations consistently. Like usual, he looked a bit uncomfortable at times when getting backed up, but it was a schooling. He put Lopez down in the 3rd and it was only a matter of time until he stopped him. Lopez is too small for 122.
On a somewhat but not quite similar note (and with all due respects for thread hijackery), Anybody know if the rumored fight between Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista and Jhonny Gonzales is still going to happen in March?
I think Ruiz might give Bautista a very tough time tomorrow.. Gonzalez would destroy him.. what is Bautista's team thinking (if that's true)?
Great to see Gonzalez come back strong at SBW. He has been too quiet for too long. He can move straight into the mix in what is admitedly a packed division. We all remember the fight he gave Israel Vasquez when they fought; the guy can handle himself.
