I had 113-113, a draw!.... I apologize for another Hopkis-Pascal thread, but trust me, watch the fight again. It looks a lot different without the excitement. the biggest error i made watching it live was the 5th round. I though Hopkins won the 5th, but after watching it again I thought that was PASCALS round. He hurt Hopkins twice on counters that i missed had because of the angle of the camera. Hopkins was momentarily bucked. The commentators had hopkins winning it but I think it was because it was a better round for him in contrast. I also scored round 12 for Pascal. It was a close round, but he landed the heavier punches.

The reason I think so many people thought Hopkins won is because he totally dominated rounds 6-11 and it was a boxing lesson. that is what was fresh on our minds at the conclusion of the fight. Rounds 4 and 12 were very close. I would have swore Hopkins won 114-112, but upon review, I think the judges were right there and scored the fight the way a professional fight should be scored except for the 114-114 scorecard which wasnt a reasonable one imo.

Honestly, after watching it a few more times now, I have it 115-112 Hopkins. Originally I had it 113-114 Hopkins and felt it could go either way. After watching it several times now, I feel like Hopkins definitely won. After the third round, it's a stretch to give any round to Pascal, except the 12th, which I scored even.

Im telling you man, watch the 5th again closely. Pascal won that round. I wanted Hopkins to win, thought he won the fight. I still think it could have gone his way, but 113-113 is how I scored it. i think Hopkins won his round much more decisively even after getting knocked down. If this was amateur boxing scoring, Hopkins wins clearly, but its not and a draw was appropriate if not fair.

Some things to condsider... the champ always has a small advantage to start with and there were 2 knock downs. A draw is not out of line because not of all hop's aggression was effective.

I was just surprised how different the fight looked after rewatching it. As an American, I wanted Hopkins to win, but as a fight fan I can honestly say after watching it again that Pascal was treated very unfairly by Jim Grey in and Bernard Hopkins generated controversy by proclaiming that "I won every round" and saying the knockdown was behind the head and neither Hopkins or Grey mentioning the 2nd knockdown at all, which was very legit. Initially after the fight I thought Hops won and that Pascal showed nothing and wasnt very good at all. Now, i can honestly say that I was wrng about Hops winning, but I was even more wrong about Pascal. it wasnt a great performance, but he showed at lot of restrain in the post fight interview and got better shots in than I had saw the 1st time arund in the fight.

props to you. i had a draw on points, but the better fighter was hopkins. the key were the body shots, it removes the speed of Pascal and then it was all Hopkins. I can understand some people giving the nod to hopkins, but it wasnt a robbery. so again, props to you.

Yup, it was a very close fight, people just love to get caught up in the "controversy". If the tables were turned and BHop fought the exact fight Pascal fought then the same people would still be saying that he won. Yes it's impressive that a man his age still competes at the top level, but try not to get caught up in it and score the fight properly. The draw was fair.

Amen peppermint, I was in the colisée far from the ring and I've been yelling against Pascal all night. Morning after,(I'm in christmas break :D) I ordered the fight in HD to be sure I saw Hopkins won.

First thing, I gave the first three rounds to Pascal like most of us I think. And I remember in the colisée that I thought that pascal wasnt doing good after the third 'til the end. But when I saw the fifth round, I was shocked! In my opinion, Hopkins gave his best shot of the fight in the opening round with a thunder left hook to the body but the thing is, it didn't stop Pascal to coming back!! Because Pascal also gave his best shot in that round!! And to me it was also the best shot of the fight, a vicious uppercut to the head, after two heavy left hook. After this uppercut, it changed totally the Hopkins momentum who nearly stop to try anything until the bell.

I watched the last 12 fights of Hopkins, and to me, it's the first time in a decade someone hurt Hopkins like that.

Like I said, you can take any round you want but the fifth round is history.

    Hopkins didn't like it...

I agreed and still agree with Tarver's card, 112-114 Pascal. The two knockdowns won the fight for Pascal. American Boxing media puts out it's propaganda!

Pascal won the 4th also in my eyes. Hopkins should be lucky that the ref didn't call a KD in that 4th round.

Funny thing is.. a lot of people score the fight for Hopkins yet for the exact opposite reason they score the Calzaghe fight to Hopkins.

Round 12 is a prime example. The best shot are landed by Pascal but the forward momentum is Hopkin's. The irony is funny.

i wrote another thread on and i actually had hopkins winning every rd besides the 1st and 3rd rounds which couldve easily been 10-9 rds due to the fact that bhop was winning the first 2 and a half minutes of those rds...i had the fight 116-110 with both knockdowns and 118-110 if the rd wouldve been scored 10-9..anyway imo this fight was very easy to score after rewatching it on demand...being that i was mostly watching both pugilist fight sat i wasnt really paying attention to small details but after rewatching i have to say hopkins had this kids heart within the first two min of rd 1...pascal was not active in any rd until the last 20 seconds of each rd...rd couldve been an even rd and rd 12 i saw for hop even though pascal landed the bigge punch in the 12th he was outworked and outhustled and and outlanded in that rd
