So I have too go in for a medical soon before my 1st fight...Question.
    Do they drug test you?
And what type of tests do they do on you during a medical]
I live in Canada btw if that makes a difference.

Just a simple and standard check up medical. They will ask for urine, but more to check for other things besides drugs. Worst of it is having them grab ur nuts and doing the cough cough thingy. You can get them anywhere really. I've had them done by my regular doc, a nurse practitioner, and at a walk in clinic. This in Canada.

I honestly dont know if they look for THC or anything like that, but I very highly doubt it. Its just a very basic medical.

Good luck with the grope!

Prior to the first fight they will give you a somewhat thorough check up. But it's just blood pressure, they'll press a few points on the body, listen to your lungs, stuff like that. I wasn't tested for illegal substances at all. This being Doucheland, 90% would probably fail a cannabis test. And yes that includes me.

I'm assuming he was referring to his yearly medical for his blue book and registration. Yea the prefight medical is even more lax.

That's what I was referring to as well, I only had one so far and that was before the first fight. The ones before my second and third fight were really lax, today they didn't even measure blood pressure for example. She looked at my hands, wanted to hear if my nostrils were clear, and did the flashlight in eye thingy :D

Weird though, because officially I'd need a new registration for 2010.

didn't you have to pass one to get a medical card at your doctors ??
i knew a lad years ago who failed one because of an irregular heart beat but he was ok'd for kick-boxing.

I thought you didn't need a physical for boxing except for the ones before a fight?

In Canada you require a medical before you even step into a ring to hit the pads. It is a yearly medical and if you don't have it and are caught in the ring, your club faces some serious ****. Up to and including being shut down. The medical is exactly what RightHooker posted.

Must be in Canada then, we only need yearly physicals for team sports like football etc. Just talked to my coach today.
