My situation is, I'm a massive Manny fan. For what he's achieved in the ring, his fighting style, his attitude to life and what he's trying to achieve outside the ring. At risk of being labelled a ******* i'm happy to admit he's my favourite fighter.

I also hate Floyd! I don't think its a persona for tv. His interview with Merchant proves it even more. Also that sucker punch against Ortiz.
I know floyd fans defend it.However Manny/Marquez/Cotto all my favourites wouldnt have done that.

My problem now is, Floyd this weekend looked phenonemal. THe agressive version would cause manny fits. He through Combos with hurtfull aggresion.

I know find myself not wanting the floyd manny fight to be made, because i thin it would crush me seeing Floyd KO my favourite fighter. And to top it all off i'd have to achnoledge that floyd is an ATG

So guys! I need convincing that Manny has what it takes to beat floyd!

I just cant see it any more

Actually, Manny has more of a chance against a combination punching Floyd than he does against a one-two sniper shot Floyd. Floyd is almost untouchable when he potshots.

Floyd is now staying in the pocket and trading more which obviously makes him more dangerous.. what will give manny fits is floyds defensive skills whilst in that pocket.. He will make pac miss and then counter him all night with hurtful shots.. the fact that floyd displays that he is able to walk fighters down without taking punishment whilst landing himself is going to be a big problem for any fighter.

    :think

What all you need to do is read the words that came out of the Pretty One's mouth:

“Hopefully, if you’re the best, you got to take the test. I represent the red, white and blue. I represent this country, and I just want to be fair and an even playing field.

    Floyd Mayweather Jr... on Conan

You see he even thinks that Pacquiao as of right now is better THAN HIM... Why would it be necessary to level the playing field if the Pretty One truly believed he was better than Pacquiao??? It's nonsensical... :rasta

Manny to small, throws from bad angles and not a technician. Mayweather picks him apart like Marquez. I Rather see him fight Khan.

manny got floyd scared before they have even got into the ring

once doubt is in a fighters head, he is no longer 100% confident of victory,k this could be floyds downfall

in the last 3 - 4 years ive not seen manny troubled with any shot and he just taps his gloves together and carries on

i dont think floyd can ko manny! hell he aint ko'd anyone for a long time (and ortiz imo doesnt count as he was looking at the ref and had his hands down)

manny would swarm floyd with punches and stay on the front foot, he would need to be careful of the counter but IMO manny wins by decision due to workrate

I thought Floyd looked slower and was getting hit a bit.

I thought Manny would tag him more and get hit less than Ortiz--who has a mediocre, jabless, atrocity of an offense with standard angles/few tricks to land punches and no defense whatsoever.

if he did that agressive combination style against Manny he's in for a big trouble.

Fair enough if it was only manny being asked to do the random testing but it isn't, so can be suggested Floyd wants an even playing field with all the fighters he fights..

Too much is being mad of the testing with folk like yourself suggesting it is floyds weakness.. I would rather concentrate on what I being displayed in the ring and Saturday nights FMJ will give pac loads of problems.

Thats harsh - especially since pac is no master at with the jab or defense..

    Roach:

Count trainer Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, among those who weren’t surprised that Victor Ortiz beat Andre Berto last Saturday.

Roach’s reasons? The weight at which they fought and a sparring session with Manny Pacquiao in 2008, when Pacquiao was preparing to face David Diaz in a 135-pound matchup.

Ortiz moved up from 140 pounds to 147 for the Berto fight, which he won by unanimous decision to take the WBC welterweight title.

“I picked Victor to win because I like him at that weight,” Roach said Wednesday at an open workout to promote Pacquiao’s fight against Shane Mosley on May 7. “My reason is one day that he sparred with Manny Pacquiao when he weighed around 155 pounds.

“… He and Manny Pacquiao had one of the best sparring sessions I’ve ever seen in my life. Manny started to get to him at the end but it was a great sparring session. I told him then, ‘Victor, you’re killing yourself to make 140 pounds. You’re making yourself weak.’ I told him at 147 he’d be a better fighter.

“I told him that for years. I told him at 147 he’d be a more resilient, stronger, better fighter. It was like Manny Pacquiao killing himself to make weight. Making weight is overrated. Fight at a weight you’re comfortable at. It’s healthier and makes you a better fighter.

“Vic is a guy who walks around at around 165 pounds. To get down to 140 is too much."

Ortiz also sparred at Roach's Wild Card Boxing Club in the process of making the junior welterweight limit. Things didn't go as well.

"He got stopped by a body shot once and knocked down by a head shot once. I said a higher weight would be better for Vic, and it surely was," he said.

Roach was asked whether he ever questioned Ortiz’s courage after he quit against Marcos Maidana in 2009.

“He’s a tough kid,” Roach said. “I wouldn’t underestimate him.”

bull****, it was manny who was asked 1st to take the test, therefore implying that he isnt natural, floyd has gotta keep up this bull**** testing nonesense so he looks as tho he is doing it for the good of the sport

if he wanted to clean up the sport he would have mentioned it without using mannys name

he didnt he said it about manny and has had to continue with it since

I still call it a 50/50 fight that just has to be made. I dont even care who wins, I just want them both in the ring. I think their styles would make for an absolute war.
