I remember watching a really great 12 round British (or Commonwealth) title match at I think Middle or Light Middleweight in the early to mid 90's. It was a return match between a short stocky guy (the champion who won) and a taller rangy fighter (challenger who had also lost the previous match). Both were white guys.

The tall guy had long hair tied back in a pony tail and I remember he attempted to jump the top rope like Naz but tripped which was a bit embarrassing. However the fight was a barn burner!

I want to rewatch on Youtube but simply can't remember which fight it was, can anyone help?

Sounds a little bit like Shawn Michaels v Razor Ramon for the Intercontinental title at Wrestlemania 10?

white guy with a ponytail?, that narrows it down a bit.
how about donnie hood?, he had a ponytail, and was white.
kevin pritchard had a ponytail, but he was black.
or maybe craford ashley or neville brown, ponytails but black.
    pat barratt? howard eastman?

The OP could be color blind, because if both fighters were black and not white, this stinks of Audley Harrison vs. David Haye.

It wasn't a barn burner though :bart

I've had a search mate, The only thing i could find that was near to your description is Tony Collins vs Wally Swift Jr or Andy Till. Till blasts Collins out in 3 though, neither faced Collins twice though by the looks. Collins vs Swift Jr isn't on youtube by the looks but search both guys fights against Andy Till. Maybe you will put two and two together ..

Makes for a good thread this, guess the fight....

Think is Andy Till v Wally Swift. Had 8-rounder years earlier that Till won. Their second one was fight of the year I think. Then had third match and pundits thought Swift would win cos he had a bad hand/arm in second, but was stopped early. Was when I first got Sky. Used to love Ringside with Gary Norman and Gary Mason.

Me to mate, Great stuff. Godbless Mason RIP. Andy Till was a animal of a fighter man seriously he'd just go at it. He battered poor Collins like a ragdoll .
:good His last fight was when he was 22 i believe, Madness really he had some proper hard fights when you browse his record.

I remember him, he was a bit crazy i remember reading an interview in boxing monthly, he was wanting to fight honeyghan at the time. he had a great fight with nunez so some name like that

wonder what happened to him or why he retired early.

Yep it was Nunez, Maybe we've nailed it. Crazy guy probably jumped the ropes that night :yep. We need answers TS please ..

I think he retired early due to so many hard fights he has 31 and lost the final few by stoppage, plus drew with a journeyman so may of just thought jack it in now. He boxed ok against Till but couldn't keep him off, he was a guy that really did need a strength and conditioning coach .
