Alright so a friend of mine (a casual fan with a little bit of boxing knowledge) suggested we watch some quality fights together with a few beers.

So basically i'm looking for recommendations about which fights, but i have a few boxes to tick:

I'd prefer them to be modern fights, mid/late 80's is probably the earliest i'd go (unless there's some stellar examples).

They can be excellent either cause of their intensity and excitement, or because of how sweet the talent and skills are - to this extent a one sided beatdown isn't really what i'm after, but if you can suggest a brilliant display that brings excitement then go for it (probably early Tyson stuff?).

Strange, but i'd like them to be big events, good crowd, lots of noise etc. I'm trying to get my mate hooked and I think if the arena is empty or silent then it may take away a lot for him.

And finally, I want about 3 or 4 fights i think, so maybe a couple of 12 rounders and maybe a couple of shorter ones?

And if i can get them high quality thats a bonus :D

    Cheers guys!

    Modern classics :

    Cotto Margarito
    Marquez Pacquiao 2
    Marquez Diaz
    Margarito Mosley
Casamayor Katsidis (a ****in belter but might be a hard one to pin down)

I always like the old Oscar fights too :

    Quartey
    Vargas *****
    Trinidad
    Mosley 1

Cant beat De La Hoya's style if its pure entertainment your looking for .

    Pavlik vs. Miranda
    Marquez vs. Diaz
    Trinidad vs. Hopkins
    Vargas vs. de la Hoya
    Norton vs. Holmes

  9. Here's an often overlooked and under-appreciated heavyweight brawl:
Tommy Morrison vs. Donovan "Razor" Rudduck

Also, its a no-brainer, but Castillo vs. Corrales I is hard to beat as far as drama and excitement. Its even got a final plot twist...
