    Working from my fight collection:

Myung-Woo Yuh v Oh Kon Son. A brutal exhibition in in-fighting and body punching, exciting from start to finish.

McCallum TKO5 Curry. A technical masterclass topped off by a huge one-punch KO, plus I have the entire HBO broadcast, so there would be full background etc.

Zarate KO9 Martinez. Zarate's top drawer title winning effort.

    Vasquez WPTS Marquez 3.

    Ali KO8 Foreman.

Sitchatchawal-Monshipur is amazing. Better than Gatti-Ward. That's how good this fight is.

Casual fans want KOs (I'm sure most hardcore fans prefer KOs over decisions as well), so all of these will end in a stoppage.

    Longer fights:

    Diego Corrales-Jose Luis Castillo 1
    Marco Antonio Barrera-Kennedy McKinney
Aaron Davis-Mark Breland (best WW fight of the 90s)
    Felix Trinidad-Fernando Vargas
    Matthew Saad Muhammad-Yaqui Lopez 2
    Juan Manuel Marquez-Juan Diaz

Fights ending in the early or mid rounds:

    Frankie Liles-Tim Littles 2
    Marvin Hagler-Thomas Hearns
    Michael Moorer-Bert Cooper
    Arturo Gatti-Wilson Rodriguez
    Derrick Jefferson-Maurice Harris
    Michael Gomez-Alex Arthur
    Miguel Cotto-Ricardo Torres
    William Lee-John LoCicero
    Michael Carbajal-Humberto Gonzalez 1
    Naseem Hamed-Kevin Kelley

    Ward Gatti
    Castillo Corrales
    Vasquez Marquez

Those series are quality in this era.

    Considering your circumstances, I recommend:

    Vasquez-Marquez III in HD.

If your mate isn't a fan after that, end that friendship.

    For skill, I'd go with Toney-McCallum 1.

If you're trying to get your friend interested in boxing, I would start with fights between 1 or 2 guys who are still relevant, this way he becomes familiar with the big names of today first. The best fights I can think of:
    In weight order:
Vitali / Arreola/Peter/ or anyone else just so he sees one of the Klits

    Hopkins / Pavlik
    Pavlik / Taylor I - Great Fight

    Shane / Margo
    Margo / Cotto
    Floyd / JMM
    Pac / Cotto
    Pac / JMM
    JMM / Diaz

    R Marquez / Vasquez fights

If you want intensity look no further than Benn-McClellan, not for the faint hearted that one.
