Didn't Ali state he could never have beaten Marciano? I thought the fellow was getting Tyson mixed up with what Ali had to say about Marciano..

Ali is a diplomat, he goers to Britain and he cannot beat Lewis, he comes back home to Joe Louis tribute, and he says he could never of beaten Louis...

Marciano would have given Ali a great deal of trouble, but Ali would most likely take the decision.

Ali could have beaten Marciano to be sure. As far as him taking two out of three, I'm not so sure.

Well I don't think your comment is unreasonable, Marciano was a great fighter who is always under appreciated. I wouldn't be overly shocked if he came out on top.

I base what I said on Marciano doing a better job in rematches (the few that he had) more than anything else. Maybe Ali would do better as well in the second and third fictional fights between the two? That's why it is always hard to compare atgs! :)

Yes it's very difficult indeed, either way it would have been one hell of a great fight.

Louis was a humble man, and said he always had trouble being crowded but a Prime version would have been a rougher fight for Rocky, marciano Idolized Louis and even helped him with money and a job in Vegas with Frank Sinatra helping Louis also. I love to see that, too bad uncle Sam did not help Joe, who fought for the U.S. and raised money during the war.

Yeah, I read that Rocky worried about having to fight Joe before hand, and cried afterwards (both out of respect). Amazing how little respect pro fighters seem to have for each other today!
