I've never been a Mayweather fan, I really wanted to see Marquez win. I've allways been a fan of his skills but not of him as a person. But the way he fought yesterday I can't see either Pac,Mosley or Cotto beat him. :yikes

Yeah, because beating a fighter who is naturally 10+ pounds smaller than you means....what exactly?

The writing was on the wall for this one. That's why Floyd chose JMM for his tune up.

Did anyone seriously expect this fight to unfold any differently?

The only thing I expected was that Floyd would stop JMM late, but he lacked the killer instinct to do that. The fight unfolded almost exactly as I predicted it would.

In the grand scheme of things, it says nothing about how Pacquiao and especially Mosley would perform against him.

I think I mostly only hated Mayweather becaue I was such a huge DLH/Hatton fan, but I found myself opening my heart up to Floyd last night. I loved those Money ads aswell, they were great. I thought he handled himself well against the Mosely interruption and that patronizing **** Kellerman. And as always, he was a charmer post fight.

The best part for me last night was that mayweather looked BETTER than before the lay off. Hand picked opponent? Sure. Smaller opponent? Sure. Still the most talented fight in the world? By far. His movement, normally something I rag on him for was tremendous. Combinations when he felt like it, reasonable power, and the greatest defense of any boxer today. No one can say with any certainty floyd has lost a step. He was brilliant and he'd be well favoured against anyone save possibly mosley

He looked very good. Yes, Marquez was smaller. But would the fight be much different if they were the same size?

Floyd fought the perfect fight, Marquez could never have won anyway.

The thing that impressed me was his defense. I would've expected that his reflexes would have been a bit off. Marquez couldn't land anything. He was throwing 4 or 5 punch combos and wasn't landing any of them. I want to see him vs. a live opponent next. A fight with Pac would be a good measuring stick of how good his is at this point in his career before he fights Mosley.

I thing a young PRIME SSM could win at 147 but I think right now despite beating shitty Margo, he is to long in the tooth, as evidenced by him losing to Cotto, a fightr he would've destroyed at his peak, Berto while very fast is just to green and needs some experiance with the elites. The only chance Floyd has at losing is if he goes to 154 and fights SSM or PW.

A 36 years old Marquez was getting slow, at 135 he show his age and lost of speed what you expected at 144 ? Mayweather knew this thats why he acepted the challenge. He look good running from the smaller, old and slow Marquez. Marquez just wanted a good payday before retiring. The defense of Mayweather is a farse how a fighter is supposed to hit him if he bends below the waist, he gives his back when doing the shoulder roll it almost imposible and the best of all, HE RUNS AND RUNS no matter how is in front of him, he was afraid of Marquez.
