Several men could be in the running for best defensive fighter of all time.
But if you're looking for someone, who has "accomplished more defensively as a boxer than any other fighter in history"...
then how about going 343 consecutive fights without getting knocked out?

So my guess would be Jack Britton.

B, you hit it on the nail, Jack Britton. One of the most amazing records of all-time. Ponder this folks,in Britton's 3rd prelim fight he was stopped. He than fought about 347 bouts after, WITHOUT ever being stopped. 347 fights...In a 350 bout career. He was WW champ 3 times, fighting Englands best all-around fighter Ted Kid Lewis,18 times. When Britton was 37 years old he fought the young Toy Bulldog Mickey Walker in 1922 losing a decision. This is why I rate Jack Britton in the top 5 WW of alltime. Anyone who could fight the best 347 times without being kod,has to have had marvelous boxing and defensive skills. Take care B...:good

Jack Dempsey he famously ducked punches from Harry Wills and Harry Greb using tactics other fighters just couldn't comprehend, it was called the Harry Duck Technique

    Classy reply Burt,

That pathetic loser is here in the classic section running down classic fighters and insulting people whose knowledge of boxing he will never have, understand or appreciate yet he continues to show up to disrespect and smear any boxer born before him- which looks like 2005 or so - and insult contributors. And since he has to go out of his way to do so he is the very definition of a troll.
